reception from the pier and they sent transport immediately. All the staff have been exceptionally friendly and helpful. Having read the reveiws it was no surprise that the hotel is on a steep slope. We booked a standard room which was a bit on the small side but clean and comfortable, if larger room required book deluxe or sea view. Stunning views from the restaurant possibly the best on the island. We paid 200 bht for a buffet breakfast which was great value for money. We ate in the restauran.
all reviews » Excellent snorkelling just off the beach. Sea view and hut was brilliant and spacious. Pool area and design of hotel was amazing lots of areas to relax in. It's a good place for couples, families or friends, it's good if you are very rich and always take moto and taxis. The pool beside the sea and the deck around the pool, the view from the room, the chill-out area. Standard room very small. After Bangkok, food seemed a little expensive. Could do with some more umbrellas. As the resort was set on a hill slope and the entrace was at the top you need to go up and down the slope whenever you want to enter or leave the resort. Specially if you want to go to the pool or your bungalow is close to the beach (at the bottom). Fortunately the staff carries your bags to and from your room :) with a small car. There is walking involved, I didn't mind, although sometimes it takes an affort to walk up the entrance area. Lots of stairs. Nothing negative to say. Food (expensive); Breakfast of variable qualitiy; Group visit that was too big for service capacity of the disturbed the rustique atmosphere. The rooms are too small and to expensive, it's far from the city, it's better to be close to the town if you have the choice, and you can do it in similar places cheaper,. Our room, a garden view room, was like a small packing case. The attached bathroom merely had a plastic shower curtain instead of a door. If there had not been redeeming features this would have made value for money the lowest category possible. no door to the toilett too much stairs in the hotel, not good for older people. Steepness of the location, room was very small. Insects in the room (we always got a lot of bites during the night and not only mosquitoes) the free transfer to city: only three times a day (8:00, 8:45, 13:30) and one way, no easy access to the see. Too expansive. Deluxe Rooms were brilliant but Price difference between Deluxe and Seaview isn't fair. A Lot of Steps to Main Facility. Really exhausting. The worst hotel I've seen. The property offers a free shuttle bus service to and from Mae Haad Pier at the following times: - Koh Tao Hillside Resort to Mae Haad Pier: 08:45 and 13:30 hrs. - Mae Haad Pier to Koh Tao Hillside Resort: approximately 10:00 and 15:00 hrs. (and at 19:00 hrs which needs to be booked in advance) === Please note that the property provides a complimentary transfer service from Mae Haad Pier (at the meeting point) for those travelling using the Lomprayah and Seatran Ferry boat services. The property requires guests to confirm their arrival time on the island 1-2 days before arrival. If a different ferry company has been booked, the guest is required to confirm with property the exact arrival time, otherwise the pick up service is not guaranteed. Please contact the hotel for more information.
