Phu Pi Maan is a little bit hidden, which is good. A lot of trees around make this place peaceful, beautiful and tranquil. It's not far away from main road, shops restaurants and other attractions. It's about 20 minutes walk from Ao Nang beach, and if you don't like walking just let know at the reception, they will take you by their shuttle service. Give them a call and they take you back. The staff is really nice and helpful. We hadn't any language problem with them. We were welcomed with drin.
all reviews » I cannot say enough about how much we loved our time at this hotel! The staff was AMAZING. Everyone was falling over themselves to be helpful and welcoming. The front desk staff was warm and incredibly helpful with scheduling tours, suggesting restaurants, etc.. The hotel itself is so beautiful. An oasis from the hustle and bustle of Ao Nang. I wasn't sure about not having a beachfront hotel, but the grounds were so beautiful I can't imagine staying anywhere else. The place is much nicer than in the fotos. There are many trees and flowers all around the hotel. The hotel was build to protect tje existing nature. There are nice views to the mountains. The staff is incredible friendly. Cheap real thai restaurants just three min walking. Free tuk tuk if u want. We just used it once. We called the hotel.from the beach and they pucked us up inmediately. By far the beat hotel we stayed in thailand. The atmosphere is just magic... Staff very friendly and helpful. Wonderfully quiet, enjoyed the Muslim call to prayer floating in the distance regularly. Wife said the massage at the spa was amazing. Staff gave free rides anywhere in town any time. Breakfast was fine, restaurant and pool very nice. Wifi in room good. Overall feel of resort is very special- being tucked away form the main road-you feel like you are in a complete different and realxed location with the view/pool. Hotel is located away from the main streets on aonang so you get peace and quiet from the surrounding forest and hills. Pool is excellent too. They should serve more local cakes which I usually get it from similar star hotels in Thailand. They also charge if you want cappuccino or latte which is insane. Don't think I will be back as I can stay in similar hotels with lush gardens and better breakfast in aonang. - The staff has a poor English skills. It caused me some troubles. - Mattress and pillow very unconfortable - Limited western menu in the hotel restaurant. - So many cats in the restaurant - In my eyes not so hygienic. The mozzie. Probably it's the monsoon season. So tend to have insects and mosquitos. The toilet smells like sewage, i have to kept the toilet bowl covered always. Breakfast spread is poor. Breakfast was a disappointment. Food are not warm and are typically infested with ants because the tray are either not heated at all or barely warm. (And becos of its forested settings) We stayed on the third floor and there was no lift in the resort. The wi-fi signed you out hourly, so if you were working on anything you had to sign in with the login name and pin every time. The smell from the shower drain was a bit bad sometimes but it's such a nit-picky negative remark compared to how nice our stay was here. Only small negative was that the free wifi was a bit patchy. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. To get the shuttle back you needed to 'phone - not an easy option if you didn't have one with you. The restaurant suffered at night from a lack of patrons which was a shame so we only ate there once. We weren't sure our bed had been made on the first day. But, it was fine the rest of the time. There is no elevator so you climb stairs, but its not a train smash. It's good exercise. Breakfast will be a bit boring for a 5D4N stay- same menu. Not all receptionists have good english or undastandable pronunciation. There is a Mosque near the hotel, and they start to sing there prayers veery loudly at 5.00 in the morning!!!. None. It could have been located slightly closer to Ao Nang beach, but the distance didn't bother me!. I would not call it a resort but more a small hotel with facilities such as the spa... It is quite far from the beach but the free shuttle is a plus... I would not recommend it for families with small children or for those who are rather up and active!. Buffet breakfast menu could improve. No liquor sold on premises. Bit far from restaurant or beach. However it is about 15min walk or there is shuttle bus so not that much problem. For those who wants party may be disappointed but this hotel is for quiet and relax stay. Hotel is muslim so that alcohole is not provided. Need to get it at seven eleven nearby (about 5 min walk). However hotel overall is very very nice. Location. Your directions on letsbookhotel.com had us going to location right by the water. You need to update this because it is one and a half kilometers from the Oceanside. Not at all close to anything but gorgeous views. Rather poor selection at breakfast. Seemed a bit reluctant to top up when items ran out. Restaurant could've been a bit better and location is a bit away from the main part of ao nang. This is countered by the free courtesy vehicle for drop offs and picks the couple of km down the road. Poor breakfast. Tomato sauce pasta for breakfast?? It seemed like leftovers from dinner the previous night. In general breakfasts not the hotel's strongest side. Also it was a bit ackward when at check in we were instructed not to take out anything from the rooms otherwise we would be charged for it... Not the hotel's fault, but ao nang beach is not nice at all: very narrow and extremelly crowded. We wouldn't recommend ao nang itself to anyone however a relax stopover in this hotel might be an option. Flooring in gym was slippery, potential hazard. Breakfast was included and was terrible for a 4 * resort. Cold food and inconsistent waitresses. Wifi was out service for over 24 hours. - bathroom (looks like its not finished), also mould in the shower; -roomservicefood and breakfast not that tasty;. In the 2 bedroom villa, bathrooms had to be shared and there was a certain smell in the bathroom. It is more like a 20 minute walk to the beach. Good free shuttle service but stops at 10pm. Beware: slippers are not included in the room, I hope they don't re-use for the next custumer, but they will charge you 1000 B if you take it home... the bathroom roofs are plastic, and thus very noisy when raining, and you can hear things falling from the trees around... hard to sleep at night.. Islamic management if you are not to keen on it... The breakfast was mediocre. Breakfast for westerners is a little lacking but that could be said for most of Thailand. Staff need to improve English, no alcohol sold on premises, breakfast a bit limited. the breakfast can be improved by extending the food variety.
