I have read all the reviews before booking. I am sitting here now in the hotel writing this review. Since most of the stuff have been said, I am not going to reinvent the wheel but just give you some low down pointers 1. A majority of boutique hotels are located in "lanes". So don't expect a fancy big entrance. Nonetheless they are very good, including Mai Hotel. If you want a grand big bang entrance, then you should go for the high end hotel chains and pay 2 - 3 times the price. 2.I have done .
all reviews » The hotel is situated in a neighborhood that has practically everything that a budget and/or business traveller would need as it is clustered with many food outlets, near to Chungshan MRT Station (5-10 minutes on foot) and within 10-15 minutes walk to Taipei Main Station. We stayed a total of four split-nights as we used this hotel as our base to leave our larger luggages when we went out of Taipei to Hualien and Sun Moon Lake for one night each. The staffs were exceptionally friendly and even . I love that it's nicely hidden away from the main street so it's away from the hustle and bustle, yet it is accessible to the shopping areas. There are eateries conveniently located just outside the hotel for some of their local fare. You could also eat some of the street side hawker food in the late evenings. ZhongShan MRT is a good 7-10 min walk from Mai Hotel and it is not difficult to find. The room facilities is adequate with a huge bathroom that comes with a tub and a separate shower. The. 1)Staff-friendly and most of them speak good English 2)room- clean and it has tea & coffee making facilities 3)Location-good.Only 5 mins walk to the nearest Metro station. I found the light switches a little confusing as clicking on it a few times will give different light settings till it gets switched off. The room is squeezed due to the room's poorly designed renovation in terms of low storey and no window at all. It would be good to change the food choices for breakfast after two or three days. Having the same choice of food for seven days is not so interesting. Could have given a variety of eggs choice instead of just scrambled. Would have appreciated if they could take orders at least for eggs. Small room. small shower. Room partitions are all transparent glass including see thru wardrope. Not safe for young children. Lightings too dim for comfort. The WIFI was very poorly connected, mostly down during my stay. The air-con couldn't be adjusted to keep us comfortable during a cold season, so we turned off the air-con during our sleep which caused the room to be stuffy. Not flexible in extending the check-out time. Nothing. We like space so we tend to find the hotel building and room a bit"claustrophobic". Room abit too small. The neighbour was very noisy, and we could hear their conversation very clearly in our room. cant really say anything bad!. Neighborhood is not so attractive. I lived in room801 that might be very close to the machine room of the hotel,my husband felt noisy . Windowless room. 1) The room is too small. There is no room to put an open luggage for 2 persons. 2) There is no need a chair in the room since it is too cram. 3) The corridor light is too dim. Should be bright for safety and security reasons. Breakfast servicing staff should not so fast collect the plate that still have dishes in the plate. Will let customer felt that not to eat so much. But we normally do not eat so much for breakfast. The connection of Wifi is soooo bad, can't even connect to internet with wifi in the room. Poor breakfast, as if only made for Japanese guests. Bike is not enough。.
