The staff were great and one of them spoke fluent English which was really good. The rooms were a good size and you get free bicycle hire with the hotel. Cycling in the city was great fun. The breakfast was decent and the price was also decent. Day staff extremely helpful and courteous...and had a good command of communicating in english fantastic location ($3-4 Cdn taxi price to train station) room superb free laptop in lobby/wifi/coffee/tea unlimited all day and a nice buffet.

The bikes are available to guests who want to explore their surroundings without going on foot, and it's very thoughtful considering that they are not located near enough to downtown for walking (Beauty Stay is approximately 8 minutes away from the station by foot) I observed many scooters and some bicycles on the city streets so you can't go wrong with their bike, and they will also give you a complimentary map of Hualien. There is no wifi connection in the room which was a little annoying. But however the wifi access in the lobby was really fast and probably the fastest connection I had in my time in Taiwan. Not a major problem but a few of the front counter staff had limited english making it difficult to communicate. The staff made up for it with effort.... - Bedroom size was slightly small, not alot of room for luggage spaces. nothing. brekfast was poor no elavetor. Nil. Very rowdy and loud travellers in the neighbouring room. Hotel should specify to travellers the basic courtesy to be quiet along the corridor of the rooms. No elevator to the second floor. Not a walking distance from the hotel to the main streets, but staff has been helpful in getting us cab and direction. I liked pretty much everything.
