Our Matterhorn Hostel provides the perfect winter and summer accommodation for budget travellers in Zermatt, one of the most famous ski resorts in Europe.
Enjoy the easy access to the mountains with the ski slopes and hiking trails only 100 metres away. Our rooms are clean, cosy and comfortable. Toilets and showers are shared and we also have a bar and a restaurant and offer free internet access.
Our friendly and helpful staff will try to make your stay at the Matterhorn Hostel as comfortable as possible. There is no curfew so you can explore the resort at your own pace.

Helpful reception staff; ability to come and go, use showers/other facilities at any hour; large locker with key; free Internet via single computer downstairs; staff confronted guests who were violating the no-smoking policy and kicked them out. Close to lifts, great staff, free internet, cheap accomodation for Zermatt.It was a good price and friendly staff... Location was very close to the lifts!. Perfect crashpad in Zermatt. 300 Metres from the gondola with easy access to Zermatt and surrounding facilities. The food served in the bar upstairs was also the best we had during our entire stay and great value for money.Free Internet was very useful, and the rooms were comfortable and warm. the friendly helpful staff. In general I don't like hostels, because I don't like sleeping in the same room with people I don't know. In Matterhorn Hostel, the beds are small and rather uncomfortable. There is only a scratchy wool blanket provided for a cover, and it is not clear how often this blanket is laundered.No kitchen in a very expensive city was tough on the budget. Not a very party atmosphere while we were there. TV did not work, not much of anything to do in the evening,. As stated in other reviews, the showers were not warm...it was a little unclean in some of the public areas, but this was the responsibilty of the guests, and to be expected in a ski-resort, where muddy boots would be commonplace... Better kitchen facilities (there was only a toaster, kettle and fridge) would be useful.The breakfast was very simple and not worth the money. Showers. This is the hostel for the real backpackers.....we can make lots of friends here. The showers were not so good often being only warm or cold.Blankets were impressively hard and there was no extra sheet inthe beds... I have stayed in many hostels before and this was, by far, the worst. We were on the second floor and had to trudge to the basement just to take a shower. The provided blanket was a horribly itchy material, the room had a tiny electric heater and was never warm enough, check-in took literally 1/2 hr per person, there was 1 key given to 4 of us for the room, and the room hadn't been cleaned. Awful. no hot water with the shower, smell not good.
