This is a lovely, family run hotel, typical of ski, hiking accommodation in this area. The Cabana is a not a large hotel and has a quiet atmosphere.The staff were very helpful and friendly, the South facing rooms have fabulous views of the Eiger and are clean, comfortable, with a spacious balcony. The Hotel will also book local transport tickets for you. I really hope to stay again. Fantastic view of the Eiger. Excellent breakfast provisions. Very nice home-baked bread, fresh fruit ,cereals, yoghurt, meat and cheeses. Also offered a cooked breakfast. Staff were helpful and able to provide an iron/ironing board when requested.Ample parking. Within walking distance of town. Overall the best accommodation within our 6 week holiday.
all reviews » The Hotel Cabana is very homey. You walk in and feel that you have stepped into your own home. The mountain and valley views are amazing! You can sit out on your patio and enjoy the sights around you while hearing the sounds of the cow bells from below. It is just far enough from the train station and tourist area to be extremely quiet. Our stay at the Cabana Hotel may be summond up in one simple word....extraordinary. We loved every minute of it. Its clean. It is centrally located. Its good value for money and you get all the frills. It has unobstracted mountain views and it is close to other sights. An unforgettable experience. the hotel was so comfortable and clean . the view make us stay the whole night in the balcony with candle light . there is a garden in the hotel you can relax in the nice weather and nice view . free car parking , good breakfast . i recommended this hotel for relaxing stayment in Grindelwald . Staff were very friendly and the receptionist was very helpful with good, accurate advice and directions. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. The room was clean, well serviced and adequate for a solo traveller. The view was great. The owners were friendly and helpful. You could buy tickets for the train and atttractions directly from the hotel. The European style breakfast was good, with a decent varienty of lunchmeats, cheeses, breads and soft and hard boiled eggs. An extremely pleasant place to spend time. The views were amazing, the hotel and staff were excellent - and extremely helpful in suggesting excursions. Sad not to have been able to spend more days in this picturesque part of Switzerland. The view of hotel was very nice. We stayed in Junior sweet room. The room was clean and kitchen was good to use. Just 10 minutes to walk from Grindelwald station. Everything was nice. Magnificent view for those superior rooms, excellent facilities (fridge, kettle, bath tub, microwave in common area, sauna room...), comfortable beds. The view from the room was spectacular from our ground floor patio. I loved the cute little red lift that would whizz us up and down to our room. It was wonderful and the lady at reception, who started the job on the day of our arrival, was just lovely and so very helpful. Amazing view at the foot of Eiger. Nice room area and balcony. Room and bedding were too warm overnight, but could be alleviated by opening bedroom windows. The breakfast at the hotel is somewhat limited, but the staff works hard to keep the tables clean and the food and drink supplied. nothing. The location is at the "wrong end of town" in respect to other where you are likely to want to go. Be prepared to walk. It was a bit out of town, but there is a bus that you can take into town if you want. The location may be a bit far away from city Center if u don't drive. A bit further from the town than I thought it was and being an uphill walk was a bit much for us. As we always pay cash, I was shocked to be told that my credit card had been debited, about 2 weeks before arrival. We have stayed in numerous establishments in Europe and Switzerland and this has never happened before. I prefer to have the option of how I pay. In summer on our trip we needed the window and door open for fresh air, however when others are on their balcony talking, our sleep was disturbed. Our bed was too soft. Nothing really. The minibar was having a problem that the fan was producing a bad noise that i switch it off to sleep. beakfast is OK, but not ours B&B. A little bit far from the main station, its' going downwards from the station for about 15min. Nothing.
