The owners Bruno and Claudia make you feel so welcome in there lovely bed and breakfast above Grindelwald. Driving up to their location high above Grindelwald is quite exciting by car, traversing the side of the mountain on a single lane, yes but what a feeling of jubilation upon arrival. The views are amazing, the food delicious and the hikes just so inspiring. We would love to return in the future.
all reviews » We had a beautiful stay at Berghaus Bort. The alpine views from the room was just amazing. This hotel is off the beaten track so dining options are limited to hotel restaurant which serves really good food. It is an ideal location if you are looking to just embrace the nature and hike in the mountains. Hotel wad renovated recently so Rooms are great and clean. It has great location and view. As other says last cable car to this place is at 4:30pm, I really liked walk up from Grindelwald, enjoying Alps hiking path. All facilities was clean and new, even water pressure was better than most accommodation in town. It also provide nice and fresh breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friend. Amazing location and the views were fabulous. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast and dinners as well. Rooms were clean and well furnished. Highly recommend. Ideal for families with children as there is a great playground right there, plenty of hiking and activities. Fabulous place way up on the mountain away from busy Grindelwald. Would love to go back. Awesome find!! We booked this the night prior and just lucked out because it was a phenomenal location. Pricey but well worth it. You can't get a better view of the Alps. Right next to a ski lift and an excellent play ground for the youngsters. . The staff are extremely friendly! My family particularly love the mountain view as well as the children exploration facilities in front of the hotel. The meals (especially breakfast) are really good!. Excellent location for us - nice and quiet country-side hotel in the middle of the swiss countryside - but still very close to Grindelwald village. Just about everything! The location, views, staff, food, rooms are charmingly decorated. My 10 year old spent hours on the playground outside. Nice design clean hotel. Nice room with excellent view and comfortable bed. But judging the house is a renovated old wooden house, this can't be improved for the time being. For us the car drive up to the hotel was real nice and exiting - maybe for some others it could be little scary especially if there would be snow or ice on the road. The bathrooms we had didn't have windows and were really stuffy and stiflingly hot. We choose room with separated bathroom - uncomfortable (placed across hall). A little bit urban looking, with passing ski lift etc but very nice place, indeed. Room fine but lacked comfortable seating. Not all rooms have an en suite bathroom. Really bad service experience - rude welcoming, not willing to help us find the direction to the hotel. Very "amateur" staff, not guest oriented. Location very remote and hard to find by car. Noisy guests on the floors and no control from the staff. Extra charge for 2nd Internet code. Separated bathroom in the corridor. Totaly shabby room with no window was extremely humid. I couldn't see beautiful mountain view at all from my room. Our room is just under the restaurant, It was too noisy and annoying. This hotel stands just in front of lift station.There are a lot of unknown noisy travellers around rooms. I couldn't feel any calm atomosphere. I can't recommend this too expensive hotel. It was surprising experience.
