  The room we stayed in was a converted attic very spacious and attractive with its own balcony and lounge chairs I would call this a studio but without any kitchen facilities. It's about a 7 to 10 minute walk to the tram stop which will take you right into the city. The hostess Doris was very accommodating and there is plenty of parking spaces just... what people say » outside. This is a peaceful place to stay and I highly recommend it. - It is really a nice and big room.It is very clean and comfortable. The owner is very nice. The view of the place is very nice.

  We always arrive late on a Friday for our weekend trips as we leave after work, and with codes to get in and for getting your room key that was no problem at all. The windows and blinds were also amazing - there was a jazz band playing across the street Friday night but as soon as we closed the window we couldn't hear anything and the blinds kept ... what people say » out all light. - The staff did go above what they tell they'd offer: i.e. checking me in outside of their opening hours because they were there "anyway" and I could leave my luggage with them because the room wasn't ready (I was before check-in time) and because I would return so late, they brought it up to my room. I definitely did not expect this from a "budget hotel"!

  Full marks for this one. It's not a five-star hotel but it doesn't need to be. Location = perfect (two peaceful blocks out the backdoor of the SSB), there's an excellent COOP supermarket right next to the back exit of the SSB. Cleanliness = perfect (What you'd expect in Switzerland). Value for the money = perfect (considering you're in Switzer... what people say » land. Staff = excellent (I had read that reception was closed in the middle of the day (and it was); however, I was able to leave my baggage there). - I recieved confirmation from letsbookhotel.com and the YMCA Hostel, Basel, each with different prices - 92 CHF and 99 CHF respectively. I paid the higher price, but difference was small so it didn't matter much. Also, clearer directions to the hotel are needed on your web site - I would have liked turn-by-turn directions from the station. I wandered for 25 minutes before I finally found it..

The location is right by the train station but tucked away on a quiet street so you have the convenience of being near all transportation but without all the noise.
