Hotel was clean and modern with good sized rooms and excellent bathroom/shower. I liked the fridge in the bedroom as I could store snacks and drinks for two small kids - also the coffee section in the reception was useful. My son liked the billiards and table football ! The car park was convenient as was the Stucki shopping mall. We also liked the steak restaurant attached to the hotel. This is a very clean and comfortable hotel with spacious rooms. It is about 20 minutes tram ride to Basel. For my liking the hotel bar could do with not closing at midnight. There is a good free Tea/Coffee making machine in the hotel lobby. I believe that this is a good hotel to stay at for both business and leisure, we would stay here again.
all reviews » We stayed in a very spacious apartment that properly accommodated five persons at great value for money. Complimentary juice and coffee were provided in reception. Parking was relatively cheap for a city setting and very secure and accessible in the underground garage. The shopping centre adjoining the hotel has supermarkets and eateries. the hotel was simply great, the one of the best out of my european driving holiday. everything that you needed was at hand, secure car park, the shopping center was next door, the motorway was close and the tram stop was only few minutes walk from the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, loved having the bar downstairs, our room (a family suite) was great--spacious and clean--and a fabulous value. We also loved the public transportation passes, which we used constantly to take the tram into town. - Very easy to reach by car, so it is a great place to stay if you are in transit. - The family room for four is huge and well designed. It even has two TVs, a stove and a minifridge. - Very professional staff and everything works like it should. very big and comfortable room; very nice and helpful staff; with reservation of the hotel, you can take the public transport (including Aerobus and tramway) free of charge; biggest shopping mall of Basel at 20m away. The only negative, was that our room was not warm enough for us, got the hotel reception to turn up the heating "again (stayed here before)" from a central point and this worked. No complaints at all; our stay was wonderful. - It is a bit out of town - Breakfast is on the expensive side. It is much better to buy a few things in the Migros supermarket next door and to good (free) coffee and orange next to the hotel's reception. everything is fine. One of the two days we stayed, the breakfast buffet was almost empty, even though it was early (almost no bread or cheese, no croissants, even no plates or glasses left). We told the waiter but he did not seem to care much... it took long until someone else came to refill. Sometimes a luke warm shower and only a comforter on the bed, no sheets. The room did not have tea/coffee making facility though there was one in the lobby. The main bathroom door did not have a lock. Nil. None!. A bit far from the train station and downtown. The small continental breakfast could do with a bit more choice of cereals. bar prices expensive. Poor internet connection on the floor. At the area around the front desk was more less ok. Nothing. can't think of anything. Car Park is expensive. Food is pricey but that's all over Switzerland so it's unique to this hotel. None. The room could have been cleaner. Wished the shower section of bath had had a door. Water splashed on the floor and made for slippery conditions in front of the lavatory. None. Internet. location. Wireless Internet connection was not working - we appreciated that hotel staff tried to fix the problem though without success. cleaner threw away our cutlery-it ios plastic but solid and spork-not like disposable cutlery. also the knife sheath anda bottle of 1/4 full aftersun. we had to callk hiusekeep9ng go through the rubbish to find our stuff. The price. Rooms adjacent to ours (519) were used by several people during the night. Extremely noisy due to people coming and going. Horrible location.
