We absolutely loved the Grand Hotel Garden Hotel. To begin with, it is beautiful--from the red carpet outside to the rooms. In our price for the hotel, it consisted of a delicious breakfast. It is ideally located. It has a sauna, and you are able to go to the nearest gym to work out, which is what my husband did. It also has a washer and dryer, and it also have wi fi all over the hotel. Saturday nights the hotel has a very delicious hot buffet. It is so worth it for the price.
all reviews » The hotel exceeded all my expectations - I thought I was getting a great deal because it took me a long time to find something affordable in Malmo and I expected a mediocre place, especially that the photos on the website were not that appealing. Instead, I found a comfortable and homely space with very friendly people and an excellent breakfast! I recommend GHG without any reservations. My room was small (with a 1 1/2 bed, I was sleeping alone so that was fine), warm (no climate control) but clean. The bed linen was very soft, which is much better than the chemically bleached hotel linen that you find in other hotels. The breakfast buffet was nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect: it's very central. The staff is exceptional. I felt like I'd known the restaurant/bar folks my entire life. The room was ample (who spends much time in their room, anyway). Great room in shower and water was nice and hot. I have no complaints and would recommend Grand Garden to anyone and stay again, myself. The room was neat and clean although it was quite small. It was perfect for one person. The breakfast, which was included, was excellent. Everything was fresh and tasty. They kept replenishing it even after 10 am because there were still quite a few people in the dining room. There really is a garden at the hotel! There are lovely apple trees that you cana ctually pick and apple or two.. they were delicious. For Swedish standarts, the hotel serevs a very good breakfast for the price of the rooms. There really isn't anything I didn't like about the place. Perhaps the hotel should be more discriminate in the photographs it chooses to represent itself - show off its warm and cozy nature a bit more effectively. Room size so-so. The noise from the climate control on the rooftop just outside my room on the 4th floor was a bit annoying. But with the window closed it was OK. For wifi you have to create a (free) account, which is a bit of a hassle. Unfortunately there was no fridge in the room. The bed was a double, but it would have been too small for two people. Almost all Scandinavian hotels aoffer free coffee and tea at the reception. There were none in here, though not a big deal. You can get a coffee for 10 kr. across the road, and enjoy it at the lovely little garden. The room could have better storage capacities. There was no dresser, no shelves in the wardrobe, no drawers in the writing desk nor in the bedside tables. It´s not possible to tun down the heating. Talked to the front desk and they cold´t help me. The radiator was hidden behind some panels. = We had to have the window open all night and the heating was working hard. budget double room is very small! the bed was only 140, long corridor to walk. slow and hard worked wifi. high price in comparison to Scandic on the other side of the same building. Had expected a room with bath (not just a shower) from the description online. Wifi did not work in room, though this had been promised. The sauna has a code lock on it, which wasn't provided by reception when i asked about using the sauna. The rooms are very warm, and you can't open a window and leave your room locked, as the garden which all rooms overlooked would allow access through the open window. Wifi connection wasnt strong/secure enough. Everything was fine. Room could do with updating as it was starting to look tired. Rooms were a bit small, no air con. Long time to check in, only one member of staff behind the desk. Bathroom plain. The restaurant on Monday evening was closed. Anyway there are plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood. Among the tv channels an Italian Channel is missing. only bathroom was small. Starting to look a bit tired. Will need an update in the next two or three years. -Room size is a little bit small. Our room, "economic one" (as they repited us several times at reception) was too small. Quite expensive. the room was quite compact for a family room. No airconditioning and poor wifi. Seemed kind of like a dormitory with long empty hallways. Not very luxurious of a hotel. SEK200 for 24 hour car parking!. no minibar. needs a bit of renovation, small room but that is common for single rooms in northern countries.
