What a treat! Everything was just fantastic- so relaxing, worth every cent. The staff are so friendly, helpful and treat you like royalty. The food was exceptional. Staff set us up on the beach for dinner one night(poolside another), and served the best fresh seafood. Chef was so engaging, and bent over back ways to make our stay amazing. Also recommend trying the Sri Lankian breakfast and curries for dinner. They don't serve alcohol but you can BYO(bring your own) and drink anywhere on the pr.
all reviews » From the check-in at Roman Beach until we left we had the best service from the staff. We went there for a weekend to celebrate our anniversary, and were surprised by a complimentary cake and a special flower arrangement on the bed. The room was also large, clean and very nice, with a beautiful view of the pool and ocean. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening, and even though relatively expensive it was very high quality food and a superb presentation that made it worth the price tag. Hig. Each of the 6 rooms has a large balcony facing the Indian Ocean, ideal for watching the spectacular sunsets. The beach is wide and has fine sand. The staff of the hotel are friendly and helpful. The dining room is good and reasonably priced. Although the hotel does not have a liquor license, they are entirely accommodating if you bring your own, which can be easily purchased at any of the 'wine stores' in Hikkaduwa. Could not find a better place for a beach poliday. The staff were absolutely amazing! I asked them a custom request for Valentine's and they delivered perfectly and on top added some more surprises to make it even more special. The rooms are amazing, designed beautifully and best part is falling asleep to the sounds of the crashing waves. I will never forget this place and will always choose & recommend them. The location, staff and small size (six rooms). The view from my balcony was breathtaking. The enormous shower was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was always very good and served very professionally by Kumara (star). Thank you for a wnderful holiday - I will return. It is an absolutely fantastic hotel! It is not cheap, but it has a very high standard. The staff is unbelievable nice, the rooms are great. Food is excellent... The view from room 105. Amazing Bathroom was cool, loved the high ceilings no liquor license, but the staff were happy to run out to pick up wine etc. Beautiful modern minimalist decor. Very comfortable rooms. Clean, few people live there in only six rooms, the decoration is good and good to my taste. perfect location , clean beach and big swimming pool, friendly stuff and comfortable rooms. The upholstery on the chair was dirty and needs to be replaced. Needed a clock, pen and paper and music in room. It is impossible to find poor things... Nothing not to like really. Bit pricey maybe and limited facilities but on the other hand small and friendly. nothing. No cheap washing-clothes nearby, few restaurants around, and few markets. You must take tuk tuk 2 km away to find them. Not licensed (So take your own). Wifi for me never worked although worked at other hotels and restaurants . Need liquor license. Need more variety in the breakfast.
