Tiny shower and sink - again no real natural light.I liked the location of the hostal (5 min walking from the Puerta del Sol which is a the real heart of Madrid) and staff who was polite compare to a previous hostal where I have been. 24 hour reception. localization in the centre of Madrid. would loved to have tea coffee in room, but could order from reception and the chap was more then happy to bring to room. Room was tiny. it was too hot inside the room. the noise: walls are so thin we can hear the neighbour turning off/on his light. But happily our neighbours were quiet so it was good. The biggest noisy thing was the renovation work of the facade of the hotel during the day. the fact that they did not speak any english at all and that they did not inform us of all the prepaid costs beforehand.At least somebody at reception should speak some English... reception on second floor, no lift. to many stairs. The room was on the 4th floor without lift. We could hear the neighboors quite obviously. The room incl. the bathroom we had was very very small.the size of the room which was tiny, but that was nothing compared to having to hear intimate noises of the room next door due to thin walls. Extra small TV. Strange noises coming from other rooms' air conditioning, and from the plumbing in the walls. Breakfast - toast with jelly plus coffee.There were a lot of stairs, and the hotel did not have parking. The room also smelled of smoke. the room is too tiny.no lift, TV very high on wall very difficut to watch from bed. Too noisy due to building work outside the window on the inside of the hostal. Could hear everything in all the rooms around ours coughing talking, loos being flushed . 1st room was tiny but got changed 2nd day. 4 flights of Stairs to room. No elevator, low level of soundproof between rooms. Rooms were just to sleep in and not for anyone who likes creature comforts. I still have my doubt onthe cleanliness of the room as I have found hairs (short and long) inside the bed on the bedsheets, the isolation of rooms must be improved, you could listen to everything around so I have hardly slept.The cleanliness was average and the noise level outragelously high! We were not able to sleep. it is very hard to find that hotel - the signboard is not visible at all, hotel staff does not speak english, the room was dark - window was covered by workers outside, no lift - heavy luggage needed to be carry in by yourself on the 4th floor (!), the door opening card was no working properly.

Information about the area

The hotel is surrounded by many restaurants, bars and cafes. There are 3 Metro stations within a 5-minute walk of the hotel, offering fast convenient access to the whole of the city and all of its attractions.

Puerta del Sol (0.3 km) – One of the busiest and most well known places in Madrid. The square contains the famous clock whose bells mark the traditional eating of the Twelve Grapes and the beginning of a new year.

Museo del Prado (0.8 km) – This famous museum and art gallery houses one of the world's finest collections of European art, with works from the 14th century through to the early 19th century.

On subway, to Sol station. Then go up Carretas street and we are at the left, Plaza del Angel, 13. 1 hour.

From Atocha train station: On taxi, 7 euro, 5 minutes.
On Subway, to Anton Martin station, then go up Atocha street and turn right in Sebastian street, and then turn left, we are in number 13.
