The location was excellent - within easy walking distance to central Madrid attractions - literally 5 minutes to the Prado. Also close to shops, a laundromat, restaurants and a 10 minute walk to the metro. The hosts didn't speak much English but were very friendly and helpful. They provided a map upon our arrival showing where all the sights were. Excellent location and great value for the money. If you're looking for something fancy, this isn't the place. However, if you want something comfortable at a great price, go for it. Another thing that I liked is that it was not corporate - it seemed to be a family-fun establishment. Lastly, free Wi-Fi that worked great the whole time.
all reviews » Late booking, requested a double bed in a quiet room, we were allocated an apartment in 24 Calle de Cervantes, very good value for money, clean and comfortable. Walking distance to all main tourist attractions. Owners spoke very little English but were very helpful, polite and tried to make themselves understood. The staff was so family like, helping us with us speaking zero Spanish. So kind. Clean, ironed sheets, spotless bathroom,air conditioning, elevator. Can you ask for more? 2 blocks to museums and tea at the ritz!. Don José is a great person that always helps us with our questions and needs. Recommended next door for breakfast and lunch. Very friendly too. Madrid will always be at Dulcinea. Wifi is excellent. Very clean room. Basic but the bathroom was modern and plenty of hot water. A great location, close to many museums, bars and restaurants all within a few minutes walking. We liked just about everything. the location was perfect, the bed was comfortable the shower was powerful and there was a lovely cafe right next door for breakfast. Unfortunately the staff did not speak any English so we could not get assistance with boarding passes and advice about activities and services. nothing. Bit noisy from apartments above and below up to 2.00 and from 07.00 in the mornings. Nothing. Sometimes you can hear noises from other rooms but fortunately it is not frequent or loud enough that it bothers your sleep. The water temperature in the shower fluctuated randomly. The hot water in the shower was almost non existent later on in the morning. a bit loud, perhaps just our room into the internal courtyard. a balcony room would be much much better (it'd be perfect - ask when booking!). room a tad small, but no worries. No fridge. Double bed was actually 2 mattresses of differing heights pushed together. Had a problem with the TV remote control. Could be loud in the morning, easy to hear other people. All good. nothing. It is too noisy. The room is too small but with the money you pay, I wouldn't complain that. No complaints.
