Wow!!! What a find...our room faced onto the Mezquita (as in, it was just there across the lane) - a surreal and wonderful neighbour. The furnishings and building are stunning - loved the patio too. Great breakfast and lovely owners who did everything they could. They even locked our bikes away for us in a room with a wrought iron door. It is close to many of Cordoba's key historical monuments and close to some great eateries too. One of our favourite finds in Spain.
all reviews » I enjoyed my stay very much. The location is wonderful just next to the La Mezquita and I was lucky to have a room vith a view of La Mezquita. The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean a bit small but you are in Cordoba !!!! So much to do ! So really it did not bother me. I highly recommend. Very good value forthe price! Our balcony looked out on the Mesquita - the grand mosque which today has been converted into the Cathedral of Cordoba. The hotel features its own collection of artwork and antiques. Breakfast is served in an exquisite courtyard. Hotel Mesquita represents excellent value in a terrific location. The bathroom and bedroom were very clean and well- appointed. The location of the hotel is excellent, directly opposite the Mezquita and close to plenty of places to eat. The rooms are clean and the shower was very good. We asked for a quiet room so we didn't have a view other than a covered courtyard but that was fine for our purposes - plenty to see as soon as you step outside. Free WiFi was a bonus. This hotel is unexpectedly nice. It is positioned right next to the Mezquita, is quiet, very clean, and the staff is very nice. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Cordoba. The breakfast room, and hotel in general, are nicely decorated. The room is very clean and adequate. Granted I went in with low expectations based in the price, but I have t say I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Lots of unique character and charm. Right in the middle of everything and very clean. Be prepared to hear the Mezquita bells in the mornings. The hotel is situated right next to the Mezquita within the old city. Perfect for visiting all the sites of Cordoba and restaurants and shops. The hotel foyer is like an art gallery with beautiful old Spanish furniture so it is a real experience to stay here. I highly recommend this hotel for its location. The staff are friendly and they speak English, and they are willing to help. In my room there is no fridge and safe box. I did not need them though. We enjoyed our stay, it felt like an old style Spanish hotel. Great staff and bathrooms. The location at the edge of the Mezquita with a view from our window of the mosque wall was wonderful. However, it might be quite noisy in the summer months. This small hotel that almost touches the Mezquita was a wonderful surprise. I knew the location woud be convenient for sightseeing. But the hotel has an historic charm that was a totally unexpected, and the staff was very helpful. The atmosphere of this former home of a wealthy family and its location directly across from one of the great architectural marvels of the Middle Ages makes this a perfect place from which to explore the incredible city of Cordoba. This hotel is right across from the Cathedral-Mosque. The rooms are small but very comfortable. The staff was amazing!! One staff member went out of his way to help us find our way around. The Hotel Mezquita is just across the street from the entrance to the Mezquita, an ideal location, and close to a number of excellent restaurants, intriguing narrow streets and delightful houses. The wifi didn't really work in the common area, as advertised. The signal was strong, but there was no real connection, as I could not access my email or anything else. This was a little inconvenient, as I use wifi for the majority of my communication purposes. Slightly shabby room but this does not detract from the overall enjoyment of staying in such surroundings. Beds could be a little better but they are common in Europe. Would have preferred wifi in room. Nothing. The breakfast was fine with lots of things to eat. However, we were never informed that it was going to cost 6 Euros each, until we checked out and the bill was presented. I felt that it was a bit expensive for a cold breakfast in Spain in the off season. No complaints. There was nothing that we didn't like. We are tall people, and found the bed quite small. Wifi - poor download, not available in rooms. Some staff members excellent and some not. Despit these comments, yes, I'd consider it again, especially if there for Corpus Christi again. You can't drive to hotel---must park outside historic area & since we arrived on a Saturday few lots nearby were full. Luckily we found street parking & it was safe to leave our car there for 2 days. The stale breakfast rolls. Breakfast was a little disappointing; packaged breads and wrapped pastries, relatively poor cuts of jamon. Fruits were not prepared and there were no implements e.g. for eating an orange. Problematic parking. The old town is closed for driving and my GPS couldn't understand this so I was going in circles until I called the hotel. They offered me a parking space in a nearby hotel Marisa for the same price as in a public space, only safe and closed:) A note for the hotel -> they could put at least a small table in single rooms to have where to put one's things. None. One staff member was surly. She must have been having a bad day. Was not at all welcoming. The beds were not comfortable--could use new matresses. Hard to find and a ways to park. nothing. if you require internet access this was an issue. Not available in room very often. I liked everything. The worst bed I have ever slept on. My business requires me to travel and this year alone, I have been in 50 hotels in Europe. This bed was by far the worst. It was a small child's-size twin bed that was so hard I didn't sleep for two nights. It really felt like springs were in my back all night long. Yes the hotel is nice but if you can't sleep, what does it matter. I think it's time to get new mattresses!. Could be noisy from street life but if you don't want to feel the atmosphere of the old city, you are in the wrong place!. The balcony was not cleaned and full of bird excrement. Did draw attention to this with the front desk. No tea making in room. Short, narrow, hard bed! Breakfast could hve been better (but was ok). Would hve apprecited a chair in the room. While the room itself was very clean, the windows opened to a balcony on an inner courtyard. When I arrived, the balcony was covered in pigeon droppings (in some places close to one inch thick with eggshells and feathers). When I complained, the person at the reception offered to move me to a room that was the size of a closet and in right in front of the elevator.
