As usual, the staff of small hotels make or break the experience. In the case the staff at Los Faroles were exemplary. The addition of a quiet thoroughfare, double glazed windows, reasonably sized room and bathroom, simple but functional entrance with an open air / covered Andalusian patio for breakfast and / or drinks, only added to a very enjoyable experience. Would not hesitate to visit again.
all reviews » The cleanliness, the friendly staff who suggested lots of sights we should see in our short visit to Cordoba, the location was very suitable as it was within walking distance of the Great Mosque and roman bridge. My husband speaks Spanish but I think I might have found it difficult on my own as I only speak English. Very friendly and helpful staff. When we asked whether it is feasible to go to Madinat al-Zahra by bicycle, staff did a google search and found a youtube movie showing how to ride by bicycle to this place (it was raining though, so we took the car in the end). Good location. Good help getting into the small garage. A wonderful experience. The staff aren't big on speaking English so it was charades, computer translations and s lot if fun. The parking lift is "individualistic" bit part of the experience. Very handy location and easy to get to despite being in the old sector of town. This is a gem of a hotel, near enough to the centre of things but just far enough away for it to be not noisy. Sonia at reception was so helpful. The breakfast at €5 was well worth it and served in a lovely patio area. We would definitely come back and stay again. Family run hotel . our Spanish is very limited but we got by .The room was good ,excellent value. Will certainly be returning to this hotel. Good location to see more of Cordoba. 5 minute walk to shopping centre and more restaurants . Fabulous. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Clean place in the very center of the city. Very friendly girl at the reception has given us recommendations about places to visit and restauraunts. Lack of clothes drawers in rooms. The bedroom was quite small however there was plenty of storage space. It was necessary to ask at the desk for the use of a hair dryer as this was not supplied in the room. Also shower gel and shampoo came in sachet form, while this is acceptable it is not as useful as providing bottles. Very narrow access to garage, not really feasible with big car without help (we managed with help; there was an SUV in the garage and I wonder how it got there). Maybe they could improve on the coffee. Absolutely nothing. Nothing. (Nada). Directions for the hotel room's safe should also be in English. Inside room on the ground floor with a small window is good to stay for one night but wouldn't want to stay there for longer period. The weekend that was in it was that of the festival of patios so the hotel was over priced but so was every hotel in the city. The carpark was also expensive and too full, though if you are lucky enough to find parking nearby its more economical anyway. I requested a double and was given two single beds but we just pushed them together, not the end of the world. Nothing. The car parking at the hotel is expensive.I wouldn't take a car on another trip as most places can be walked to and the bus and train services are very good.Difficult to enter parking garage. dificult for parking. The groundflor 3person room has a intense chimical odour in the bath. Must keep the door closed.
