The room info given by the recidencia campus del mar is accurate. You get what they promise. Location was with in walking distance from the city center. Also a bus connection (bus 17) is near by. Staff is helpfull. The room was cleaned daily, even on weekend. I needed a basic accomondation and did not need it to be just next to la rambla. Wlan included in the prize is a bonus. Bed was comfortable and the towel large. Not the thin and small you usually get. The walk to la rambla is ~15min. Beac.
all reviews » Everything. Very convenient location - less than 5 minutes from the beach. About 5 minutes walk to the L4 metro station. Tons of restaurants and small shops in the streets. Quiet place if no sport matches take place on the stadium near by. The interior was very nice, cleaners cleaned every morning and it looked fresh every time we came back from the beach. There was a small kitchenette with a cooking hob, vent above it, microwave, sink so you can have trip to a supermarket nearby and grab your. The place reminds me of my student accomodation when I was a student. But Residencia Campus del Mar is much better. The place is very clean, quite, very close to the beach, and not to far away from the La Ramblas and Barceloneta metro station. My room has a separate bathroom and a little kitchen with a fridge, stoves, and a microwave. Very good value of money (which include free wireless internet too). I will definitely reccomend this place, especially if you were thinking to stay in a hostel. My room was simply but adequately furnished with the added facilities of a fridge, cooker,microwave, pots pans and various other utensils. A little basket with breakfast bits and pieces left in the room each day was also a plus. All very handy and something you don't get in most other accommodation. It is situated literally 2 minutes from the beach which was great! The surrounding area was quiet. It felt safe. Yoiu get small keys to keep with you and so you can come and go as you please. I liked everything: the campus is not big, it's calm. It's close to the beach (for me it's very imporant. it's close to many of the city sights - I could easily combine the rest on the beach and going sightseeing. The staff is very friendly and is helpful. When I come to Barcelona next time I will stay in the Campus for sure and I will advice it to my friends. Great location close to the city center, to the port and to the metro station, just a few minutes walk to the beach, very close to Ciutadella Park. Supermarkets nearby. Helpfull and friendly staff. The apartment was only a five minute walk away from the beach. Barceloneta was also in a walking distance away. The room was quite big and had a small kitchen. The staff was there to help you 24/7. We liked the central situation of our apartment, near the beautiful seaside and the beautiful streets and monuments of old Barcelona, nevertheless really c a l m (if there is no other guest in the location above ,,,. Then you wlll hear every footstep in the night). We liked pretty much everything. The apartments are about 5 mins walk from the beach, and 20 mins walk from Plaza Catalunya. The location was in close proximity to every thing. hotel was clean, comfortable, location is fine. No kettle, cleaners don't speak english, the Wi-Fi was very slow - 1 Mbit/s. But these flaws are minor comparing to all the conveniences. My only complaint, is that the fridge was noisy (only noticeable when I was trying to sleep). This may have just been this particular fridge though and maybe not all the fridges are noisy. No bathroom extractor fan. The room could have been a bit cleaner . - I would have liked to see a piece of soap in the bathroom ( to clean hands after using the toilette). I had to buy my own. There was shampoo and shower gel, but that is not enough for hygiene purposes. Location: Not easy to find the location at the first time, it needs at least 15mins to walk to the nearest Metro station. - noisy (( you can hear every single sound from rooms around. i was lucky enough that there were not that much occupied, but during the peak season i think that might be a problem. 1) I don't recommend ground (1 in Russia) floor, all people on the street can see you, take 1nd (2nd in Russia) and upper. 2) no ventilation. During cold nights a little bit cold due to leaky windows (or balcony door). Every day the same breakfast with no meat, just milk, juice, cornflakes, yoghurt, cookie or croissant, rusk, jam, cocoa, coffee, tee, water, cheese and butter - everything in small amounts. Takes a little walk to get to the city centre (or to the metro and from there somewhere, walk to metro 5-10min). The campus is near a football field and the players scream a lot.But they don't play all night long. Nothing to do with the hotel, but my answer would be unexpectedly cold and wet weather.. breakfast was a bit unusual for german standards, too much sweet stuff, as e.g. donuts. I didn't like the fact that when I've booked that there was no facilities available. So when I got to the residencia at the reception they told me I had to clean my room, and sort out my towels. It could be a little cheaper than current price . And there is ventilator instead of air condition. Actually there are rooms with ac but there is a fee difference for it. None. no window on bathroom, needs some renovation. Little high cost for this quality. beds are a little hard but that's it really and who cares when your really tired... campus style, it's not a hotel... Room was too small, but, as far as I know, it is common problem for Barcelona hotels. - Lights could make the rooms a lot brighter. So can think of having high watt bulbs. Not all staff speak English.But it is like everywere in Spain. Breakfest is no more then fair. breakfast in a small basket in the frige :( if you want to have some bread, you'd better buy one from supermarket or bakery... Rooms are not air conditioned and summer in Barcelona is no joke. Lights I'm my room didn't work except for the bathroom and the desk. I wasn't offered another room or some form of compensation. Fan they offer is too small to cool one off.
