We arrived at 11.30am after starting from home at 3.30am. We were delighted to be told a room was available and that our request for a room in the quiter part of the hotel had been honoured. The hotel restaurant has an excellent menu offering a varied choice of well prepared dishes at a reasonable price. We would recommend this hotel to our friends. Free internet access, free breakfast, free water and apples...you can't go wrong! Plus the rooms are really modern, the staff is really nice, the price was right and the hotel is within walking distance (.5 miles) to some of Barcelona's main sites.
all reviews » The Hotel is in a very good location. Staff was helpful. Rooms were clean. Restaurant attached to the hotel served great food at reasonable prices. The breakfast included in the room rate was wonderful. I also appreciated the free apples and water. Every aspect of the hotel exceeded my expectations, the room was very comfortable and stylish. The meal we had at the hotel restaurant was seriously good and classy, it almost felt strange that it was within our price limit! loved it.Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Market. I really enjoyed pretty much everything in the hotel, from the relaxing bedroom, the giant shower, to the free apples and fresh water. It's located near the subway station, so it's easier to travel around the city. Also,the restaurant is very classy, as is the hotel, and it's not very expensive, so I would recommend it to everyone. :). the decoration of the rooms are really nice. Also there is the free bottles of water for the guests which was really helpful especially if you are walkig in the city the whole day.I liked that there was a cupboard filled with drinkingwater and aples in the staicase. The rooms and the Restaurant. i thought hotel market was a stylish boutique hotel. i particularly liked the style of the restaurant. the bathroom was enormous with white fluffy towels. Free water and fruit...that is very nice. The hotel restaurant has great food for a low price. Generally the personnel was very friendly.Really friendly hotel staff. Good value restaurant. Good breakfast, nice atmosphere.Bathroom was lovely. Helpful staff, gratis bottled water and fruit, very good breakfast included, room was comfortable though small. The included breakfast was outstanding. We also enjoyed dinner twice, avery good upscale restaurant. Our taxi driver could not find the hotel. In fact, it's address is the name of a little alley. So, I would recommend writing to the hotel beforehand and getting the name of other main streets around it, so that you can help your taxi cab driver out and not have to aimlessly walk through the streets of Barcelona (which is what we ended up having to do.). didn't like the emergency light seemed to stay on at night!? seemed a bit odd as i like a dark room at night, just blocked it out in the end. small point. very noisy from outside street activity.The air conditioning was not efficient. Cooling was minimal. The location is somewhat noisy. The TV remote did not function easily or well. The lighting controls are tricky--sometimes a challenge. Difficult to locate. We had a lot of trouble finding it so it would be good if they gave better instructions on how to get there. We asked 3 taxi drivers, and 1 shop owner on the street that was just parallel to it and they did not know where it was!, and we took a take ride for 50 minutes to arrive back to where we started and it would have only taken 5 mins to walk. The warerobe was not big enough to hang clothes in. The small elevator. bathroom was a bit smelly due to drainage. but it is normal if the taps didnt turn on for a while. the shower smelled like gas. Some street noise, but I guess that is unavoidable. It can get noisy in the corridor- specially in the mornings.If the room is facing the main street, it is very noisy in the night. please can they provide shower caps, esp in rooms where the only wash facility is a non-adjustable shower. The noise, as there are wooden floors it's not conducive to a good sleep in the morning time. Also the bedroom doors are very heavy and bang shut... Walls are not very well insulated so one can hear conversations clearly. Overall small complaints but I still enjoyed my stay. The website says it's a 10 minute walk to Las Rambla. It's more like 20.Noise and smell from sewer and plumbing. Tea / Coffee making facilities not available in room.Our air conditioner didn't work too well, that's all :). The cabinets in the room could be bigger. It was too small for two people.lack of tea/coffee in room. I found the hotel very difficult to locate. this was a fairly minor point, but i did not think the rooms were well sound proofed. Some hotel personnel spoke catalan to me, while it was clear that I am a foreigner. They should speak either English or Spanish, which I understand somewhat.A little too far from Las Ramblas. A bit noisy due to the road, and the location wasn't ideal. Dinner in hotel restaurant was mediocre at best. Room somewhat noisy at night, room lighting and lighting on some stairways poor, directions for arriving guest via airport bus were poor. Virtually no storage space. We lived out of our luggage.
