It is directly across from La Boqueria on Las Ramblas, tourist central. Steps from the front door is a subway stop, and close to everything else. It could be noisy in the evenings and it has, hands-down, the world's tiniest elevator. Great water pressure in the shower, free wi-fi both big pluses. It's clean and the staff is friendly and helpful, a great place to stay your first time in Barcelona.
all reviews » Couldn't ask for a better location, right next to the metro and on las ramblas. Our room was really modern and exceptionally clean with a balcony overlooking las ramblas. Excellent value for money, especially as we got one large room for four of us. Raj on reception was so friendly and helpful, and went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. I will definitely be staying again!. Location is excellent - right on La Rambla, and right at the Metro station. the staff is very friendly and very helpful. The luggage storage facility was very handy. It is the first time that we stayed at a hostel and what a nice surprise. I do not think that this establishment should be ranked under hostel....rather a boutique hotel or something. The hostal BCN Ramblas was awesome. You first enter the building you don't think much of it due that they are not allowed to change the building appearance but when you get to their floor.. Omg.. Very contemporary, modern look. Super clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. And what better that it's across the street the Boqueria Market. Very cool!. This was a gem of a find, right in the centre of Las Ramblas with the metro just steps away and the Mercat across the road. Many Places to eat - dunkin donuts for breakfast and Wok to walk for lunch! Room was fantastic with balcony, large enough for the three of us and very clean and freshly decorated. Seems more a hotel thean hostel. Excellent location centred on Las Ramblas. The entrance does not do hotel justice could be spruced up but everything else was good staff lovely and room very good and clean a mixture of people there young and older. We didnt here any noise at all in the evening or during the night. Would recommend this hotel to all ages. Really nice place to stay. It can be noisy depending on the location of your room. It's 2 flights up to walk or take the world's tiniest elevator. Ok, the staircase up to the hostel can do with some paint. When walking up to the hostel the first time, one cant help to wonder if you made the right decision to book there, but I can promise you, as soon as you are on the 2/3 floor all doubts disappear!. The stairs leading up are a little scary, but dont let that put you off, the staff will carry your bags up!. Window in the room is very small. So there is no daylight in the room. I like to unpack. No where to do that. Not much of a complaint. Nothing. When booking the room it stated it had a patio. What it actually turned out to be was a horrid derilit concrete inside lighting patio. I had to draw the curtains in order not see a big massive whole on the concrete walls. Hotels in Spain should really consider getting kettles in the rooms, it is not that costly and it makes all the difference. Most reviews started with the stairs, but what did you actually expected in the old town? Anyway there are very narrow stairs. Staff helps with the luggage and there is (the tiniest possible) elevator. That was no-issue. However the hotel is not exactly cheap, but for the top location seems ok. Interestingly the safe was there, but was not bolted to anything, useful only against petty-theft... If traveling with heavy luggage, very narrow passage till you reach lift to go up. Soundproofing could be better, you can hear literally every little movement which is not very pleasant in the morning. nothing. Lack of good noise isolation. Tiny shower (hard not to hit any parts of your body while showering). Hotel located in 2nd or 3rd floor of a living house with very narrow staircase to climb each time. Room wasn't the biggest. Lift is too small for those with big luggage. The room was not spacious. Bed was a bit soft and short for 6.6" tall. Entrance / stairwell leading up to location. Bed & pillows could be more confortable. on 4th floor with very limited lift access. Tiny bathroom though the largest one is in room 101. Weird reed diffuser smell in the hostel. No minibar for cold beverages. Very tiny lift to the floor. The narrow stairwell to get up the stairs. The room itself was great but the bathroom and shower were tiny. Also could hear people talking through the thin walls. Very tightly spaced. The smallest elevator I have ever used. Claustrophobics beware. Consequently, be prepared to climb several flights of stairs to get to your room. The corridor is narrow and the rooms are very close to each other. This makes the room really noisy and you can hear anyone passes from your door. The noise disturbed me until late night and from early morning! The stairs were also narrow. Rooms were so small all you can do is sleep. Not even any space for a chair to sit. Early checkout at 11:00 was a bit frustrating . Lot of noise. Walls were paper thin and only minimal rooms faced the ramblas whereas the one we got faced a tiny alley way.
