As it was my 30th a group of 8 of us decided on a trip to Barcelona and I came across the Serennia Apartments which I booked. I was extremely happy with my choice as were the group who I came with. The apartment was modern and furnished well and it had a good space of living to say the apartments was for 8 people. It is in a very convenient location being on top of the ramblers. Special mention also of Albert who ran the building...very nice fella who spoke perfect English and who was very help.
all reviews » Albert was very helpful and informative, we had a slight problem on our first night with the occupants in the two apartments above coming in drunk at different times and ringing our door bell. We were not very happy, but Albert spoke to them and we didn't here them for the rest of our stay. The apartment was very well situated for what we wanted, Las Ramblas and Camp Nou. It was nice to come back to a comfortable apartment at the end of a long day out walking. We were met by the Concierge Albert, who is an absolute gem. Nothing is too much trouble, he makes sure your stay is enjoyable and comfortable. The apartment is only 150 or so meters from the start of La Ramblas and seemingly the centre of Barcelona. If we are ever fortunate enough to visit Barcelona again I would stay here. Location was awesome!. City Bus tours started at Plaza Catalunya which is only a block away. Lots of restaurants and small grocery stores close by. Also very close to Los Ramblas. Large taxi stand at University Square which is also only a block away. location right in the middle of city and walking distance to shops, resturaunts and transport, the apartment at #17 was huge and had 4 balconies great view of the street life. would highly recommend for family and large groups. fantastic. Ideal location, next to Plaza Catalynua, La Rambla, etc. walk everywhere. Albert was so extremely helpful, his service really made a difference for us. Noisey neighbours on the first night. Only thing was a terrible sewer smell coming from drain in bathroom floor of master bedroom. Washer/dryer not the best - took hours for one small load to complete. But everything else great. beds were a little hard !. The beds were not the most comfortable, but we didn't expect 5-star hotel accommodations. There was sewer smell in the master bathroom on the first nit, but it went away. Overall, no major negatives. The heating didn't work which early december is a bit problematic. Elementry products were missing, like salt, pepper , and soap. Small things but annoying in this class of apartments: - lack of washing powder for dish washer - almost exclusive Spanish TV (but you dont come to BCN to watch TV, anyway ;). Nothing. All good. the apartment was very comfortable and clean but it lacked some minor things like dish washing soap, extra garbage bags, hand soap,and for the stays that are more than 4 days they should give a free cleaning service and changing of towels and bed sheets. Fourth bedroom was very small, no wardrobe. Nothing. No way to air dry clothes. Needs a method or place to air dry dishes if they are hand washed. Given the number of people, there wasn't enough space to store clothes. very noisy the shower head was broken. Nothing. Hairdryer didnt work. Could do with hand soap in each bathroom. The address of the actual appartment on the email. no use of phone and simple space by bed side and bath room for storage. The room could have been a little cleaner, more glasses needed in the kitchen. Weak wifi signal, slow like molasses Internet. Rack with towels in the hall by the elevator. Not much room there & thought it was a fire hazard. The televison did not work - no signal - this was reported on the first day, and was not repaired at all. We inform ed the staff when we left.Laundery stood by our entry. very poor staff service, zero assistance, one Mr. Albert was just not there, even if you call him, he would give some excuses and not provide any assistance. We stayed 5 nights, they did not clean the apartment even once, normally apartments are clean up every 3 days. Toilet / bath very tiny and inconvenient. Overall a very congested apartment if you more than 2 people. Not very clean, worn needs paint job, bathroom door won't fully close and no lock, washing machine smells so don't want to use, sponge at kitchen sink gross. the apartment cleanlines was not satisfactory.There was a constant sewage like odor when the windows were shut!!?? athe shower stall had no curtain or door!!. The lift door did not open fully. The bathroom/shower needs to be refurbished; the shower tiling had mildew growing on the grout lines, the shower head was broken and not enough towel rails. The bedroom window blind was broken. The Wi-Fi was weak and flaky. Noise Drain smell. Only 4 bath towels for 6 adults Patio & balcony (which I consider accounted for the higher price) looked neglected. The bathroom in the main bedroom had sewage smell that is discusting, the problem was never solved. There is no AC in the rooms the conditioning is only in the hall way and it becomes unbleavably hot, towels and lenons are so old, the management were aware of the sewage problem and brought different products but nothing worked. I had a terreble experience so make sure of the appartment you get before sny commitment. Shower bath was not clean,dirty towels you can clearly see the brown spots , I give it 0 out of 5,waste of Money, I had to leave the flat 4 days before the end of the rent, I really feel sorry for what I've paid !!!!!!.
