I like Akira Flats since the beginning because after booking we received an email from the owner with a complete guide of information about the apartment, how to get there, about places to visit in Barcelona and it also offered a shuttle service to and from the apartment to airports or train stations which was very convenient and outstanding. all reviews » amazing location (we were in the flat in Ronda Sant Pere - walking distance from Las Ramblas, Placa de Catalunya and Passeig de Gracia); breathtaking interior of the flat, very clean, spacious, with tall ceilings and even a beautiful fresco on the living room ceiling; huge TV, all the necessary equipment (huge fridge, washing machine and all), all fairly new and in excellent condition; large, comfortable beds, two balconies overlooking the street, not massive but enough to accommodate a few peo. It was such a great pleasure to meet the owner, Mr AKIRA, and enjoy a touring surprise all over around Barcelona, after midnight, when he picked us from the airport EL PRAT with his shuttle bus! We were supposed to sleep for a few hours and then have a morning flight back home... He gave us useful information on Barcelona and answered all our questions, concerning culture, arts, society, etc.! He gave us very exact directions in order to take the bus and catch our flight, even passing by the m. Akira apartment was gorgeous, spacious and cozy. A perfect place to stay in Barcelona, it is really close to the centre, shops and everything you need! The host was very friendly, delightful, always ready to help and give any advice you need! Everything was very well organised, we were provided with all the necessary information to arrive in the apartment, check-in, surroundings and Barcelona in general (places to see, restaurants where you can it delicious spanish cuisine). Perfect! Everything. It is within the city, near the beach, and just about 15-20 minutes walk to/from Sagrada Familia. Akira Flat is comfortable and convenient for a family. Old but well maintained building. It is well furnished and spacious. Price is reasonable specially for a group or family. You can cook your own foods and laundry your clothes so that saves you some costs from eating outside and having your used clothes cleaned before you go. The apartment was very conveniently located, only 15-20 minutes walk from Sagrada Familia. It contained all possible conceivable amenities, much more than were needed for a very comfortable stay. Everything was great: very good location (very close to the main attractions of the city), well equipped, spacious and clean. The flat is nice old style in old building. The man who brings the key is disponible and explain things very well. Very clean, great location. Very good location. emptying the buckets of water from the air conditioning on the balcony - someone has to do it though!. The appartment just needs a cleaning, to throw away the dust from the upper parts of the furniture, the curtains, the bedcovers (not the linen, they smelled very nice) and generally to refresh the air. We didn't mind the sounds of the metro which is just just opposite the flat, very early in the morning. It's an excellent choice, don't miss it:). The building is old and the elevator can only accommodate 1 person and 1-2 luggages so the others need to do some exercise going up (and down) the stairs. For someone who have come from a long and tiring travel, it is not a good welcoming experience, but I guess better than some other small hotels in Europe. The environment appears to be not so safe during night time, but day tour and walking around is a very nice experience. While in the UK and many other European countries France etc, only a driving license is needed for identification, here we were required to give passport details of all people including the children, which seemed a little excessive, but I hope that data is well protected with the management. There wasn't an electric kettle in the appartment :). Elevator is very small. In this moment there is road reconstuction and you will hear the noise of the road + noise of workings from 8:00 in the morning. In our case there was electricity missing for some howers couse to work in progress, acceptable. Other thing, there is no hair dryer and for as the drying machine didn't work, maybe just a case. The flat is old and maybe need some changes, but this is sbujective. My oppinion is that the cleaning fee is too high for short staying, but you will calculate it your self. No a/c exorbinate cleaning fee almost half the cost of the 1night rental. The apartment was not ready for our coming and was not very clean.
