From the moment that we parked the car we were greeted by the friendliest hospitality! Andre walked over the lush gardens inviting us to our room that awaited. We had a self catering unit which had a grand main room and lovely bathroom. Andrew and Mathilda gladly accommodated an extra guest at minimal surcharge and had an extra bed made and ready on our arrival. Full DSTV and free wifi available which was great! all reviews » Right on the beach with great rooms and ocean views, lots of places to relax indoors and out and good breakfasts. The hosts could not be more welcoming and helpful. Initially, I stayed for 2 nights and came back after staying just two nights (orginal planned 4 nights) in Plettenberg bay. A truly wonderful and relaxing stay at the Dolphine Dunes. Very friendly owners/hosts - felt at home right away - very nice view from to rooms down to the sea - you can hear the roaring of the sea - it is avery nice place ;-) it is a nice place to visit George, Knysna and Wilderness of course - we stayed to nights. The percale linen....divine! The spacious shower room. Only called that because the room we had did not have a bath. The view from the bedroom to the sea and the garden view from the lounge. We were forturnate to get an upgrade to a family room....Bonus!!!. This was one of the best places we stayed in South Africa: The rooms were amazing, the views and beach majestic and the decor superb. We noticed things such as the way the food was presented, complete with edible flowers. We loved it!. It is owner run, they have great attention to detail and are super friendly and went out of their way for us. We enjoyed every second we were there and didn't want to leave. Will definitely return. Travelling information

From George: - Travel east on the N2, through Kaaiman's Pass. - Go around Dolphin Point and head down the hill towards the village. - Pass the village on the left, and cross the Touw River Bridge. - Follow this road for 2.5 km. - Turn right onto Buxton Close. - Follow this road until Dolphin Dunes. From Knysna: - Travel west out of Knysna ont he N2. - Go around the lagoon, towards Sedgefield. - Pass through Sedgefield and travel towards the N2 towards Wilderness. - Pass the Caltex on the left hand side. - After 1.5 km, take the Buxton Close exit on the left. - Follow the road until at Dolphin Dunes.
