In the Vine Country Manor House is situated within an estate at the foot of the Helderberg Mountains, 15 minutes' drive from Stellenbosch and 10 minutes' drive from Strand Beach. The elegantly decorated en suite rooms and suites feature a private balcony, terrace or courtyard. They offer air conditioning, a kitchenette with a fridge and free coffee and tea facilities. Certain rooms offer views. Guests can enjoy a farms-style breakfast under the trees or on the patio. Barbecue facilities are available on the deck at the enclosed lake with ducks. After a day on the road coming to the "Vineyard" is like paradise. We were upgraded to the garden suite at no further cost and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Literally 10 minute drive from Stellenbosch and 3 minutes away from Somerset West this is a good location for outings - or just to relax in the lovely garden and on the spacious pool. Theresa and Coete are utterly charming hosts: they gave me medicine and helped nurse me when I had sunstroke, gave my wife a blanket to keep her warm at the rugby and lent us their gps to get there. Beautiful accommodation, really comfy bed and option to dine on site. More like staying with friends than a B&B. Everything. Very warm and friendly welcome on arrival. Helpful - where to go, what to see, where to eat. Comfort - home from home. Atmosphere - very relaxed and charming. Setting - beautiful setting amongst the vineyards just outside Stellenbosch with great views. Definitely returning for a longer stay next time. Excellent location for touring the wine region. Gourmet breakfasts served at individual tables in the Manor's dinning room overlooking the gardens & mountains beyond. Fantastic hostess, large luxury fitted rooms with comfy sofas everywhere. Very comfortable and lovely room. Close to Somerset West, Stellenbosch and airport. We loved the place's atmosphere and its proximity to the winelands. Beautiful setting with wonderful views. Nothing. The classical music CD in the dining room.. Can't think of anything. That you had to drive at night to get to a restaurant. The restaurant next door had recently closed. No dishwashing liquid or drycloth if one is eating in and wants to wash up. Otherwise, the small kitchen has most of what one needs for casual dining-in. sadly we only stayed one night - should have stayed at least 2 to enjoy the lovely pool and quiet setting.
