Our stay was so wonderful, we had a special welcome and the staff was not only friendly but incredibly helpful carrying our bags,efficient helping us with a scary spider in our room and showing us an awesome lookout point at a water hole. Thank you!. GKL IS A GEM! The staff are wonderful! Every staff we worked with went a ove and beyond to take care of us! The lodge offers various day and night safaris, as well as non-safari activities. The food is top notch! This is a warm and welcoming place.
all reviews » The chalet we had was wonderful. It easily accommodated our family of four. The outdoor patio was perfect for relaxing. The staff was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The dinner every night was delicious. All the staff were consistently accommodating and highly attentive. Every one of them seemed to enjoy offering help whenever possible and expressed genuine interest in you having the best stay possible. The food was incredible. Enjoyed every bite from the starters to the desserts. Would love to go back again. Friendly staff with a warm smile. Definitely recommend it. Great place to stay if you want to get away from it all. The hotel is inside Marloth Park and you can see wild animals all around you! The staff was very kind and helpful, our bush chalet very nice and comfortable. The prettiness of the main lodge and our own room. Friendly Staff. Staff were very friendly, but are uninformed about the menu and food they serve. The food and excursions was a little out of our price range. Although we did spend money to eat elsewhere, we would have been so happy to spend our money rather at the lodge if it was more affordable. Nothing. Excursions offered through / organized by the hotel were extremely over priced - especially for locals. Nothing. nothing. although food was very tasty,I found it to be pricey as they do not cater smaller portions... set menu only!! at R220 PP for dinner including children. We went on a game drive organized by the hotel but it was extremely long and tiring. Our guide couldn't spot any animals and we had to see them instead! Another thing I didn't like was the difficulty to connect to the internet. However in such a place we coud do without it!. We couldn't see the bottom of the pool - suggesting that its never cleaned. The rooms need wifi and TV with international channels (we were travelling with small children) nice touches would be to have a DVD library and family games etc. No TV No Fan airconditioner not efective, cost of beverages R18.00 for coldrink, R35 fro 3 scoops of icecream?. everything is old the food was not up to standard too expensive for what you get. The food is overpriced and lacking in quality as well.

Travelling information

From Johannesburg or Pretoria: - Head to Witbank for the N4 to Nelspruit / Malelane / Komatipoort. - After Malelane, travel for approximately 30 km and pass Hectorspruit. - Approximately 15 km after Hectorspruit is a turnoff to Marloth Park. - Turn left along 6 km of dirt and then you enter the Marloth Park gate. - Travel on tar for approximately 6 km for Marloth Trading Post. - 2 km after the trading post is Waterbok Street, where you turn left. - At the T-junction for Swartwitpens, turn left. - Turn left into Hartbees Street and the lodge is about 300 metres up on the right.
