The lodge is in a beautiful setting and the accomodation units charming spacious and spotlessly clean. Only regret is we did not have more time to just chill out at this fabulous place and have Tinker Bell the fabulous Jack Russell lead us on the bush walks within the property. A big thanks to Kurt and Karl who were such lovely hosts and could not do enough to make us welcome and willingly helped us with all our queries. Special thanks to Kurt for the lovely meals. I would highly recommend Hami.
all reviews » I arrived late in the evening and departed early in the morning not really taking the time to enjoy the facility. The staff were great getting me to their location and taking care after I checked in. Lots of neat touches to the room and complex giving it a South Africa atmosphere. Very quiet and relaxing. A complimentary breakfast was waiting for me at the gate when I departed for Kruger at 5:30am. That was very nice. Everyone there including Kurt, Karl, and Nola were very accommodating, and appear to enjoy what they do. The service was excellent, the food was excellent, the countryside was beautiful, and the miniature horses and dogs that have all been rescued add to the ambiance of the lodge. The evening meal is well worth the cost, and Kurt enjoys being the chef. The room was really nice, spacious, clean, wonderful ambiance. Kurt was very knowledgable about everything and took time to engage with us. The dogs were cute and the surrounding was beautiful and hard for us to leave after one night. Highly recommended. Also, use the GPS coordinates in to find the place and you'll be there!. Great place to stay. Strongly recommend it if you are planning a visit to Kruger Park. Lodge is very close to the Park, staff were very nice and helpful, thay made us great home made dinner and prepared breakfast to go since we left the place very early in the morning. Also the place is very cosy and interesting. My stay at Hamiltons Lodge was an unforgettable experience. The breakfast was wonderful and the 3 course dinner left me speechless. There are no words to describe the fantastic hospitality portrayed from the staff and ensured that my wife & I will always remember a memorable honeymoon. I enjoyed the food, the fish I ate for dinner when we arrived was well cooked and delicious, I liked the fact that they have cleaning service which is affordable and my husband loved the mountain bike trails. The room was specious and clean linen. Very warm welcome from the staff. We absolutely enjoyed every minute of our stay. The breakfasts and meals were of good quality and the park was fantastic. The unit was very comfortable and well appointed. The Lodge is beautifully decorated with wonderful antiques and memorabilia. The staff all worked hard to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Definitely a great value-for-money option for an overnight stay before visiting the Kruger Park. Good internet access via free wifi. Such a lovely place, we enjoy the house, the fire stove and the delicious dinner. It's a wonderful farm, the people is very nice. If it's near to johannesburg I think I'll enjoy every weekend. The meals were also of very high quality. the location is wonderfull and the place has special atmosphire. the owners are lovely. take the horse riding that is offered there. Friendly stuff, a good breakfast and it's clean. There are also a lots of animals there, also monkeys and hippos next to the hotel. Welcoming and helpful owners, in the middle of nature, huge rooms (biggest for this price I ever seen), great place for 2+ people wanted to rest in nature's place, advises of Kurt (the owner) were very helpful. It is located in a very special place .Facilities are ok.Breakfast and dinner are very good. Lunch package for early travellers( visiting Krugerpark or panoramic-route). The rooms are well appointed. The only somewhat negative point is that there is a 2k drive into the lodge from the main road. However, if it were closer to the main road it might not have such lovely views of the countryside. The driveway into and out of the resort. Nothing. The strip drive up to the lodge was a little scary. I prefer to have an a la carte menu selection for dinner but have to admit the set menu dinner was most enjoyable and good value for money. Not very central but that is clear from the map in advance. - None. The road might present a problem to smaller cars when faced with traffic in the opposite direction. No tv in the rooms. Missing TV in the room and no fridge. The bath shower head was broken. I later realised that it is better to book a self catering unit if you have small children thar can't wait untill 18:30 for dinner. But I gues that is something that I should have considered before making the booking. Nothing. poor wifi. Nothing. That we only stayed for one night, and that the weather was cold... Bathroom rather damp. nothing. nothing. Isolated place almost half an hour drive from Hazyview (2.4 km by hard road + more than 10 km by good one), no TV in room, Wi-Fi - only in reception area, boxes in reception calling you to tip for Wi-Fi and to staff (the only place in South Africa with tipping box for wi-fi) - not comfortable feeling for people from not tip culture countries. It is very hard to find.We had to telephone the owner who helped us out. The gardens are neglected. The supper was shocking!. The bathroom curtains need to be replaced with shower doors, the bed and bed linens/ pillows are tired.

Travelling information

From Johannesburg/Pretoria (4 hours): - Take N12 or N4 Highway respectively to Witbank (from Johannesburg International Airport, follow signs to Boksburg to find the N12) - Follow N4 Highway through Belfast and Machadodorp. - After the Machado Plaza Toll follow the Schoemanskloof option on the N4 towards Nelspruit. - Turn left where you rejoin the main N4 at Montrose and continue to Nelspruit. - Take R40 North to White River . - In White River, at the first set of traffic lights in the town itself , turn left, following signs to Hazyview . - At the next traffic light, turn right - with the playing fields on your left and, further on, an open park with a pond on your right - and carry on alongside the CBD. - Cross over the next set of traffic lights and then at the final set, with a Caltex garage on your right, turn left on the R40 for Hazyview. - Hamilton Parks is 30km from White River on the right-hand side.
