the hotel is beautiful,modern,rooms are stylishly decorated with a very modern flair.The staff were very friendly,they went above and beyond to please us.Breakfast was really nice,lovely that everything was halaal and there was a wide variety of food to choose from.i would definately stay there over and over again,because it is one of a very few hotels which caters for muslims. . I erroneously left my wallet in the room that I had booked in. I immediately received a call advising me of the misplaced wallet. I received everything in good order, nobody had tampered with the contents. I'm still highly appreciative of the staff for their efficiency and integrity! I also highly appreciated the buffett at Saffron Restaurant!.
all reviews » We most enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, the facilities offered by the hotel and the food was delicious. The upmarket design of the hotel was a major plus. Being contacted regularly by the hotel reminding me of my booking was appreciated. Lastly the welcome note on the TV was incredible, i liked that. I liked the reception area and the friendliness of the staff. I loved the view from our room and the comfortable space in the room including the bathroom. The dining room was wonderful, clean and the food was very good. The efficiency and friendliness of the staff.Room were very clean and setup is cosy and stylish.It served our purpose for the visit- relaxation. We enjoyed and had a lovely time. That place is beautiful! The staff was attentive, at some point lost my wallet and it was found and sent back to me,with every cent still inside:-)....loved the place!. 1]breakfast and dinner was awesome at saffro. 2]the treatment from staff - concierge, reception, restuarant were all amazing. 3]atmosphere in the room was warm. The fact that I was charged for ironing! I am of the view that the hotel should have an iron or irons which may be borrowed by patrons at no additional fee. I was utterly disappointed by the delay caused at reception. We had to wait 45mins to an hour before checking-in after check-in time, in fact we weren't the only victims that afternoon to experience this poor service. This meant that we had to cancel other plans we had for the day. We booked in for the spa and we were delaid for that too. I would like when the cleaners remove the soap from the bathrooms to replace them with new ones. I would also like when we book for a double room , we get a double bed and not 2 single beds put together. The Spa service and nettiquette was poor. Called and asked Leanne to emailed me packages and specials and she never did (ga ve her my email address). When I called on the next day requesting to make bookings,was so dissappointed when she told me it was fully booked and she didn't bother to apologise. The room service menu was quite scanty, not much choice, no fish no lamb chops:-(. nothing to dislike. we stayed on the 5th floor and teh amount of noise we heard from other rooms around 2 in the morning was not very convinent. We stayed on the 10th floor, "The Venue" is situated on the 11th floor. So the functions and parties at the Venue every night got a bit loud and noisy and made it difficult to sleep so we were a bit irritated with that. We heard a number of other guests on the floors below us also complain about the noise so I suggest the Hotel needs to maybe look at better sound proofing 11th floor. The cleaning staff knocked a few times and i was not fast enough to open, they opened the door and came into the room,while my husband and I were sleeping. This happend on 2 different occasions. Had to pay R20 for the tray for room service. Asked for some honey and never received it. Seafood buffet and food was realy nice but service levels was not always the same with waiters. Reception staff could learn a thing about customer service from the waitors.I Had complained about a few lights not working and the tap that was attached to the basin was broken but it never got attended to during the duration of my stay. Bathrooms are big and have lovely fittings. Unfortunately we only had a shower and not a bathtub. Food. Restaurant food was not great. Cleaning and Housekeeping staff always rude Breakfast very boring. I didn't like that I was firstly put in the wrong room when I got there. I had paid for a specific room which was noted on my confirmation but I was given another room and then had to complain before I was put into the correct room. The attendant at breakfast charged us twice for a friend who was joining us for breakfast and only once we queried the double charge did she own up and admit that we were in fact double charged! Watch your bills. Aircon poor; pillows; basin tap bad design; could do with a few more electrical plug options. The windows were not clean and it obscured the view from our room. Also the shower in our room was not clean and it is a major health hazzard. The room was 511. - Service in the restaurant was not adequate, could be more friendly and attentive. Poor service. Waiters unattentive. Had to ask 3 people to remind front desk that waiting for porter at car to take luggage to room Bakery at breakfast poor. Hotel clean and location is good. No Porters from parking to reception which is on the 4th floor. Nothing. Small things that I have complained about before- no cold water and ice in the rooms. Please put a warning in the drawer above the bar fridge that this drawer becomes like an over so do not put anything in there that can melt. *a small fridge with water in the room will be welcome *don't do all the hassle making waffles if no ice cream is available. The reception is on the 4th floor. Confusing. the noise from the 11th floor made it difficukt to sleep. No designated smoking area. We had to phone four times to try and get a food menu for the room. It only came once i went and bought take out.We phoned three times to get dessert for the room which never came. I had to go down to reception and speak to the F & B manageress in order for me to get the dessert. The lifts and the fact every time u exit u need go to reception to scan your parking ticket.Much of an inconvinience. Restricted food options. high price, lesser number of lifts, room service little slow. Standard of food is not great - not much choice. The lifts are overrun at night time room service food is very bad. Requested a full seaview but was given only a partial sea view room at the back end. The shower in the room was badly designed. The drain was in the incorrect place, so water remained after the shower. slow response to telephone. Restaurant does not match hotel standard. incompetent staff at reception. took 15minutes to charge credit card. had an urgent meeting to attend.
