We are lucky to have chosen Birokrat Hotel for our three-week stay in Ljubljana. Very spacious rooms and apartments well equipped with all modern facilities. Very professional and hard-working manager of the hotel who does his best to satisfy the needs of the guests. We've stayed in many places in Europe and can say that Birokrat hotel meets the highest standards of the best hotels in European capital cities. all reviews » The Birokrat was in a convenient location just a 15 minute bus ride to the city center. We were very please with the quality of the room which was modern and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The staff was extremely helpful with recommendations and directions. They also went out of their way to mail a library book and glasses that we left in the room. Would definitely recommend this hotel. We enjoyed our stay. The staff were excellent. The hotel was very clean and offered free tv with English channels. The gym and spa was directly across the road, To my surprise was a proper gym with all the locals, you name the machine they had it. Rooms were cleaned daily. Parking on site. Easy access to public transport into town, also very convient to link to the motorway by car. Would definitely stay again. All is well. The staff is friendly and professional. Perhaps a slight negative is the absence of hotel restaurant for dinner (we had to go up to 10 minutes by car to the centre), location of the hotel at the edge of the city (considering this fact the room was slightly overpriced in comparison to other similar hotels we visited during our summer trip crosswise Slovenia and North-Eastern Italy). Considering how good the rest of the apartment was, I was baffled by the design of the shower that made it virtually impossible to shower and not flood the bathroom floor. Jacuzzi bath was another nice idea until the jets of water flew everywhere and we couldn't turn it off. Absolutely nothing at all. In 6 weeks of driving through Eastern Europe, this hotel rates at the top for us. Location, but don't let this put you off. It is slightly out of town (15 mins in a taxi) but for 5 Euros it isn't an issue. With views of the stunning mountain ranges to the left makes up for it!. Nothing. Nothing. there is no "nature" around. The only thing I could think of, it is the fact that the hotel is in a bit of the distance from the town centre but it really doesn't matter as there is a public transport and taxi bringing you there for €5 or so. Very minor points - The room was very warm at night and I really should have asked someone to attend to this so that's down to me. Also it would make more sense when issuing the Urbana bus card at reception to charge the initial 2 euros at the start. Then it can just be refunded when guests return the card during check-out. We didn't really like the atmosphere in the hotel bar. Hotel does not have a restaurant, only a coffee bar. Still, it's a very good coffee bar. Hard to say anything bad about this place. No complimentary hot drinks even though there was a kettle and cups in the room. Aircon wasn't.' working so we need to open the windows. Became too noizy because of road traffic. The waterpark was about 25 minutes walk and not an easy place to swim. It was more suitable to younger children. Some people may find the distance from the city centre difficult to manage but we found the buses easy to use. The bus heading to the city centre could come more often (intervals on weekend between 20 and 40 minutes). It is quite far from the center, even if taxis and buses stopping nearby solve the problem. Very little choice nearby for evening meals but it was very easy to drive to and park in the centre if you did not want to bus. Slightly impersonal rooms but probably because it is mostly a business hotel. The place, a little far from downtown, but there's a bus that pass just in front of it, and in 5-10 minutes leave you in downtown. Square toilet Slow check out process No hair conditioner in the bathroom Was put in a twin room, not a double, for the first night. 4 km from town, but bus stop very close (€1·20 to city centre) buses are frequent. The front side is slightly noisy due to the morning traffic. Nothing at all. Not so far. Nothing. No complaints (those without a car might find the distance to the city a problem).
