I have been more than 60 countries so far and the San Art Hostel in Belgrade is probably the best I have stayed. The Hostel is a Floating one on River Danube, has very friendly owners (Momo and Sasha) and receptionist (Misho), they were also very helpful for anything I required, the area is green and very peaceful, the hostel is also very clean. San Art Hostel is in a walking distance to the Biggest Shopping Centre in Belgrade "Usce Mall" and the Palate Serbia. All historic places and the main.

It was especially good for us as we were going to a concert at the Belgrade Arena, which is just over 1 km away. It is also surrounded by a park with a path for roller-blading and running. As our children are keen roller-bladers, this was a huge plus. The river setting and view also make for a superb and unique stay. There is no comparison with staying at a conventional hotel. . We liked the location and hospitality of the hist very very much (momchko is his name)...We were welcomed with some cold orange juice at our arrival and the host explained in detail what we would have to see in the city..We also received a very detailed map from him. We recommend this hostel for it's location , price per night and at least but not the last...for the great hospitality of it's owners. I couldn't recommend this hostel more. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful offering several very useful suggestions as to how to get the best out of our short stay in Belgrade both in terms of things to visit and where to eat. You can walk into the centre in about 20mins. Belgrade is a very upbeat place. The staff were very good, picking us up at the train station & after a sleepless night due to loud music, they moved us to a bigger an airconditioned room. I would recommend booking a room with air conditioning if staying in the warmer months. Such a cool little hostel in a great location. Both owners were amazing with us - Sasha actually drove us into town the next day before our flight so we could see the Belgrade Fortress before out flight home. Loved the breakfast, a real home-made meal - just wish we didn't get in so late and could have stayed longer. We really enjoyed in this hostel! Be careful if you have a car !!! neareast public parking lots was told "safe" by the hostel keeper... But it's not true !!! my car (french) and some italians had been victim of some dégradations. Attention si vous possédez une voiture !!! Le parking public a proximité, m'a t on dit à l'hôtel est soit disant "surveillé", mais ce n'est pas vrai... The problem in the summer is that the disco clubs on the river play until 5 AM and the drum machine may keep you awake. turbo folk music set (not my kind of music). You must walk 400 m. Small rooms. Nothing. Took a long time to find it, even after we've contacted Booking and thy',ve put us through to somebody from the hostel. The directions they gave us were even more confusing. I think it would save many people a lot of time and energy if clear directions were written on the website. I see this was not just our problem. I am sure it can't be that hard to put together a clear map of the area. Very hard to find.No signs around.Poor breakfast.
