In the Hotel I felt as if I was in Florence ...and certainly was easy to run over to the National Opera in less than three minutes to see the ballet program "Carmen" next door around the corner an Art Cinema, the beautiful church bell in the mornings nearby, and the old city from my 4th floor window, with the towering St. Michael Cathedral...The staff and service, the quality of furnishing and the the access to global news and art through the TV channels, floor to floor windows...e.
all reviews » We were staying in Cluj for only 1night on our drive from Maramures to Sibiu. We were very pleased with the Hotel Beyfin. It is a modern hotel with all of the amenities to make it first rate. The location is on a busy street, but you do not notice the noise once inside. The staff is wonderful and we had a beautiful view of the church and music hall from our room. Though we didn't eat dinner there, we had a great breakfast and would expect the same at dinner in the restaurant. Hotel Beyfin. We liked the location very close to the city centre, room was spacious and very clean, also the bathroom is very spatious. Furniture is new and bed sheets very clean. View from the room very nice. The terrace on the roof has a marvelous view, but it is a pity that is open until 11.30 pm, only. Overall, it is a new and very friendly hotel and I recommend it for a city break or business trip. Nice modern rooms with great view, good breakfast buffet and excellent location. The terrace at the top of the hotel is simply amazing and the food served is very tasty, dinner there is strongly recommended! The air-conditioning was not working in our first room and we had to call the reception twice to fix the problem: in the end we were given another bedroom within an hour. Their computer system had a glitch and our booking did not show but the staff already had another reservation for us 500m down the road at a 5 star hotel where we were treated very well. The staff at Belfin were very apologetic and paid for our transfer to the new hotel and wished us well. I highly recommend this hotel. The staff is very friendly and the rooms were perfect. You have a wonderful view from the terrace and from the rooms on the front side of the building. It is in the middle of the city center thus allowing you to walk instead of needing to take a taxi. The WiFi worked fine in both room and lobby. A large well designed room also well insulated. We never heard people in other rooms. Breakfast was excellent. We needed to stay one night in Cluj to catch an early flight in the morning and the Bayfin we just a short trip to the airport. They were very kind and honest with us and even packd each of our group a bag breakfast. Don't even think about staying anywhere else in Cluj! The highlight is the Terrace bar, with excellent, great value food, overlooking the city. There is also free parking in the street or in their garage. Very polite and attentive stuff, clean and comfortable rooms, great location. Good taste is present as soon as you pass the front door. The breakfast selection was pretty good, but the replenishment of cakes was slow or non-existing. The garage was closed because of roadworks for several weeks - they failed to inform us in advance despite our definite request as regards the availability of the garage. Some minor details needed to be on the very top. It was too hot into our room. The temperature of the heating was too high. One evening we wanted to eat in the restaurant, but it was closed to a private party. We had no pre-warning of this and so had to eat out. Reserved parking space is a little tight (very easy to scratch another car when opening the doors) and you need to contact staff for both entry (which is ok) and exit. Not many English language tv channels. Hotel bar and restaurant empty with not much atmosphere, but many local venues nearby. Would have expected a better breakfast for the quality of the hotel. Nothing. Small tea cups in room. Th elevator does not travel to the garage. did not have hot water just warm in the shower after 11.00 pm ...i also wish to add that the breakfast is very simple ,i came about 9.40 am and the fried eggs were not good. Impossible to have breakfast on the terrace, the building is closed during the night and you have to pay extra for the parking. lack of tourist information, although reception staf were extremley helpful. no parking lot. Nothing specific to mention. In earely May the hotel had not yet started the air conditioning in the rooms for the season, in spite of +28 Celsius. The south-facing rooms therefore reached over 50 degrees. An old-fashioned fan in the ceiling would have helped... low level of interaction with the reception on recommendations and places to visit in Cluj-Napoca. Small rooms and very small beds Dining facilities and appalling quality of food - food served was still frozen. One waiter was good, the other just sat and watched TV.
