Fantastic location, right next to the Old Town and Old Castle. Not far from Krakowskoie Street and Nowy Swiat either. Very picturesque and in a grand building which is the home of the Polish Writers' Association within P.E.N. The apartment I stayed in was on the top floor and very large and had all you needed, including a fully equipped kitchen. Breakfast was provided (spreads put in the fridge and fresh bread rolls delivered in the morning).
all reviews » The rooms are very clean and very large with high ceilings. This place is very affordable given its central location, and the excellent views out to the Old Town and castle. There is a slow lift up to the third floor (where the hotel rooms are) if you have luggage, but it's often faster to walk up the stairs. Wonderful room view with a perfectly comfortable windowsill, a coupe of pillows and a blanket; modest, but clean and tidy room; a comfortable bed with clean linen; tea available 24/7; close to busstop that goes to the airport (175) and a shopping mall; WiFi. Beautiful old hotel in Old town. Loved it. It is only for those that like simple not 5 star glittered modern accommodation. The position is amazing: Sigismund's Column was right outside my window, and everything worth seeing - and eating - in Warsaw was a stone's throw away. She speaks nothing but Polish, but cares so much about her guests. We used to have a little chat (mainly hands and feet) every morning, and I hope someone tells her how much I appreciated her kin. We had understood that there would be WiFi available but the router did not work. It took some time to find the fault. Elevator is ridiculous and impossible to use, but this is part of the ambiance. One has to hold down the button, holding constantly, until it actually hurts, while the elevator passes 3 floors Very, Very Slowly! We called it "el rapido" as a joke to cheer us up. Older people withou the same strength in their hands/arms would Not be able to operate this elevator!. breakfast a little too simple. Breakfast was a tad modest, but appropriate to the price category. I really cannot moan about the lift, as so many others have done. Its slowness was a small price to pay for all the advantages. Staff Not Friendly, Breakfast rolls, cheese and coffee. no english on TV. Breakfast was terrible - just a snack left on tables in the corridor and instant coffee. Elevator did not work very well. breakfast very simple which for the price I think it's OK. Beds a bit uncomfortable, but I guess for the price you cannot ask for more. Street Noise, staff sleep during working hours, uncomfortable bed, no sound proofing so you can hear all conversations in other rooms, "breakfast". I don't recommend staying here.
