The best "value for money" ratio in Oman. Very well managed hotel, the rooms are not new but good maintained, repaired and clean. Nice sea view. Very quiet. Very good breakfast - the same like in much more expensive 4 star hotels. Friendly staff. Although it is not typical "beach hotel" (beach is not very good), it is highly recommendable for short stays in Sur. The rooms are clean/comfortable each with balcony and staff was friendly. The hotel is nice, but the facilities are a bit dated. There are a couple of coffee shops in front of the hotel and a beautiful walkway that lines the coast starting from the back of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was excellent - fresh and varied!.
all reviews » I love this hotel - it is like being with family. The staff are terrific under the management of Mr Hany who does everything he can to make one's stay pleasant. Food and beverage are great also. The views across the sea are spectacular - oh to watch the sunrise. I wish I was back there. Clean, value for money, good breakfast. Although this hotel is on the coast, the beach is not easily accessible from the hotel. The pool was closed for maintenance - which of course has to be done and it is 'winter.' So I did understand. Room a little small, asked for double got twin room. Evening menu could have been a little more exciting. No wi-fi in rooms only public areas. Didn't have everything on drinks menu ie had the gin but no tonic!. 1. The beach is still public and ownership is not with the hotel. Needs to be made private and cleaned and usable. kitchen has limited choice. Needed another pillow, which I received when requested. Pool is used by local school kids on a Saturday morning 10-11. In itself, this is a good thing, but it was not good that there was no notification of this for the guests, until a young boy takes a running dive bomb straight in whilst you are swimming. A bit of advanced warning from the hotel would go a long way - not least in terms of planning when you use the pool!. The bar was miserable and had a limited choice in drinks. Also it would've been nice to be able to have alcoholic drinks by the pool. Food in the restaurant was terrible and expensive. No free Wifi in the rooms. there is confusion about the hotel name on letsbookhotel.com the name is Resort sur beach holiday, but the real name is Sur Beach Hotel Carefully when you book this hotel. Beach needs to be cleaner and ownership should rest with the hotel Rooms should be larger in size Food options in menu limited and taste needs to be improved. Breakfast OK though. Surprised that there is no lift to the restaurant. food. Superior rooms are not in main Hotel building a little bit far away in "Khadra-Building" - makes one feeling lost and separated. Poor ocean view from room 303. A building of "house technique" (airconditioning, water tanks etc) in front of window. Lot of noise from main road during night time. Small pool. Garden does not meet expectations - three small places of lawn with one small bistro-table each. No shade. No assistance with the luggage. The easiest door from our room to the car park was locked, which meant a long walk with our luggage through the lobby. A long walk to any restaurant, only a coffee bar over the road. although the hotel restaurant food was very good, but it would be nice to have a choice . On the beach front but the beach was not used, no beds or loungers. Although there is only few hotels in Sur and this hotel the best of them but it could be better, food(not that good) ,rooms (Too small)and facilities. Not very clean. Very outdated hotel. Food was well below average - omellete was horrid. Go out from hotel to bazar in town and you can find some very good Shwarma places that are excellent had 1/3 the price. Was very poor value for money compared to a similar priced hotel in other areas of the middle east. Over priced Needs renovation and modernisation Significant distance from centre of Sur. Too expensive Sheets were dirty and weren't changed after the previous guest Asked for a sea view room and paid extra for it, got a view from a high window with a blue line that's all I could see The design of the room was very weird and old and getting there wasn't easy. 5 star price for 2 star quality. all things very poor and expensive hotel.
