Space: the room was upgraded to an executive suite on the top floor, with separate parents room and two real large beds in the sitting room; Location: the hotel is in a nice neighborhood near the top hotel area and near the Grand Mosque (a must we needed to see but that is open only early morning) on the way to the airport; Comfort, finishing and services: it's a European 5 star;. I went there for a day and upon arrival I was lucky I was given an upgrade of room. I checked out the next day but unfortunately i have to stay for another night again for emergency reason. Since I already enjoyed my previous stay, I checked in again and they gave me another upgrade again. I think i was lucky for 2 days and I really enjoyed my stay in a nice and cozy suite.
all reviews » I booked the hotel through letsbookhotel.com and they upgraded me free from regular room to suite room :) I am a frequent flyer in the region and it gave me the best ever experience compare to the amount I paid! Finally, I left my cell phone (costly smartphone) in the room and hotel people called me and gave me the phone back by them-self!! Overall experience is great!!!. Everything in this hotel worked and worked well. The staff all spoke English. The room was excellent, breakfast top notch. Free pick up and drop off at the airport. I really cannot fault this place. Also there is a supermarket just down the road. Excellent restaurant close by (Turkish House). I was impressed, never give full marks but they deserve it. Overall good stay. seemed to be more of a residential area . Rooms are nice and big, very spacious and clean. breakfast buffet was very good too. cabs are almost always available at the entrance and around 5-10 mnts drive away from some of the tourist hotspots. many restaurants and boutiques also nearby. I only booked for the cheapest room, but they gave me a lovely suite instead-a full living room and king size bed. The service is excellent. Even the taxi drivers that work this hotel are honest and respectful. It is much better than any other hotel in this area. Very friendly staff. I was not frowned upon for arriving and checking in early. I also got upgraded to a junior suite at no extra cost. The hotel is relatively new and clean. The restaurant serves a good breakfast...a lot of variety. The free upgrade to Executive suite was great. The room was huge, although the bed was rather hard. If they had a pool or a deal with a hotel that did it would have been perfect. Nothing. The room service food wasn't great. The burger was definitely just made from frozen. The breakfast was ok too - but I suppose it is only 3 star. Apart from Mutrah Souq there is nothing to see in Muscat, so stay one night and move on to more interesting areas in Oman. A/C units too noizy, fan keeps on all the time. However, I've seen this in the area even with 5 star hotels. N/a. Seems strange when this hotel has such a high standard that they fall down on one point. They have a shower base, but no screen, so the water just runs all over the floor, which in our opinion is dangerous. Yes, there was a shower curtain (which I hate) but it was a foot off the floor, so utterly useless. Come on Tulip Inn - this is something important to fix!!. The hotel is a little hard to get to. Despite confirming twice, the hotel did not organise an airport pickup for us. There was no apology by reception staff and no offer to refund the taxi fare we had incurred. We found staff on reception to be off hand and disinterested on several occasions. They were interested in their personal conversations than attending to the guest standing in front of them. nothing. We were disappointed at the lack of tourist information available from the hotel. The map was very basic, and we did better buying resources from the supermarket next door. The room safe/lockbox did not work even after repeated attempts to fixit. The location of the hotel is a little bland, and finding it can be difficult. The property is in the midst of a concrete jungle and no greenery visible anywhere around the place. Have to walk ten minutes to get a drink. Slippers are required, especially as the rooms' floor are granit tiles. Also, the parking at the back of the hotel does not have a direct access, which is somehow inconvenient. Advise on possible sightseeing could be better. Lack of swimming pool, and the hotel is not licensed to sell alcohol. For me nothing ... Only able to access Internet on one device at a time in room. Bit out of central area where most of the sights are. Getting a taxi between 12 and 3 pm. The hotel is difficult to find when driving on your own, but then again so is everything else in Muscat. Use the Mosque near the hotel as a reference point and then you can at least find the neighborhood. Only one device can be connected to the WiFi. Nothing. No way to have a shower without flooding the bathroom floor. WiFi available for only one device at a time. No way to have your phone and your laptop connected at the same time. Breakfast buffet could do with a rethink. The communication skills of the receptionist. I had no internet for more than 24 hours although they said 5 times that "Sir, now it is working". noisy air conditioning unit on roof above 7th floor. Air con unit in room was smelly and had to be cleaned. Shower seemed to flood bathroom floor. Was delivered a meal that was not ordered and expected to pay for it. Hated the location. Because Muscat is such a terrible city for walking you were stuck away from everything. The airport pickup was messed up. The driver was not there when I came through and it took several calls to locate. Not acceptable when arribvng late at night. The location is hard to get to, Breakfast could be a little better.
