the room felt like a small house: there was a mini bar, a porch with great view to the mountains. we had a kettle in our room which was very helpful. there were computers for use of the guests free of charge with free internet in the lobby. the staff was very helpful and kind. breakfast was great . We travel with 1,5 year old child and it was good choice becasue hotel was quiet with resonable walking distance to main atractions like old city, harbor (10min) or central rail station (15min). Brekfast was delicious with big choice. Reception reacts very fast on your requests.
all reviews » Breakfast was really nice for all tastes. Reception staff really helpful. Very close to main city attractions. If you come or leave from airport, the airport shuttle bus station is right across the street. Central location (walking distance to all attractions), great breakfast, clean and spacious rooms, direct shuttle to Airport, excellent staff, very friendly and helpful!. The hotel is friendly and comfortable and very convenient for the town . The restaurant was great and the food very tasty. The waiter was charming and most helpful. The hotel is on two sites opposite each other. We were in the older part which had quite a tired appearance . Like everything in Norway the price was very inflated . Just price of hotels....yet that was the average price I guess. Quite expensive for the offered quality. Nothing of any note. Bathroom small. Would have preferred to stay in the same building as check-in (assigned instead to a room in building 3 - although, room was very nice). nothing i did not like. Location..in the opposite side from the Old Town but not very far. To get to the entrance you should go upstairs...its hard if you have a stroller or heavy baggage. No parking. Shower cubicle very small. Central heating was on, but a call to reception turned off hest to our room. However these would not stop me staying here again because the hotel is - for Norway - reasonably priced. Just remember you get what you pay for. The smell of the carpet of the aisle. If you are driving you car don't even imagine to take any downtown hotel. There is very limited parking space in the downtown. This hotel didn't have any parking facilities. I have to leave my car to Grieg hall parking which was quite far away. A little bit of noise from the street but acceptable. Couldn't turn off the heat, too hot. Tried to charge a phone while out and the maid took the key card while we were gone deactivating the plugs. No cnn and cnbc. Cost of bottled water. the noises from elevator was disturbing the shower cover was no good, water everywhere in the bathroom. Nothing. It was hot and stuffy, with no air conditioning. The noise outside was enough that you wouldn't want to leave the window open. If you are going at a hot time of year I would look for something else, cooler times it is a good 'budget' hotel (still a little pricey for a budget hotel in my opinion). The whole time, 3 days there was no Internet in the hotel rooms, Internet at the lobby was vey poor as well. Room was over the road and if you open the window to get some air it was very noisy. Very noisy rooms facing the street, a very high noise Level due to old and poorly insulated Windows, refurnishing needed. (you have to park in double lane to unload your car close to the hotel, anyway avoid using car in norway cities) breakfist room has low ceiling. no parking in the hotel and the public park is a bit far. Abad smell in the bathroom - from the shower after it had been used. The hotel is tired and in need a some updating. No PARKING!!!!!! Public parking far away and VERY expensive!!!!!. No air conditioning. Internet was not working in the room. The bed was not a queen size, but two singles. It was stuffy, no ventilation, while it was loud with opened windows it was very loud because of the cars. The room was ok, but not much more. Needs to upgrade on interior. I was staying at a building next to the main building, and it was kind of old and in need of upgrading. There was no reception in this building. After one night I get to change to another room in the main building, and this was much better and more modern. The room was unbearably hot. We called down and they said they would sort it out but there was no change. We had to prop the windows open with our things to try and cool the room which made the noise from outside so loud we could not sleep anyway. The rooms are very hot (no air conditioning) and the shower was too small.
