The staff was very friendly - free laundry! There are three flyss buss stops very close - only 40€ to get to downtown Bergen (fish market, the mountain tram, train station) The breakfast was delicious, the room very comfortable - I found the price one of the best in Bergen ... Only 1-1/2 miles from the airport. I highly recommend the Scandic @the Bergen Airport ... It was a great base for the fjord trips and enjoying the city.
all reviews » The bedroom was clean and a relaxing environment with modern, interesting styling and decoration. The bathroom was well laid out with high quality fittings to complement the wet room shower design. Breakfast was the usual hot and cold buffet with plenty of variety. All in all the staff was very helpful and friendly. The location near the Bergen airport was what we needed. Breakfast was terrific and the staff were very accommodating to our arrive at the last minute kids. Quite peacefullly located hotel that offered good and free car parking, comfortable room, and a delicious breakfast that had just about everything one might desire. . The location was very convenient as we need to be near the airport. To stay at one of the new renovated rooms was great. The room was nice with very comfortable bed. Everything was excellent!!!. No complaints, it was great. It wasn't obvious how to connect to the free wifi (which was one of the things that had attracted me to this hotel) even when it was explained. It also turned out that the Internet connection had been intermittent the night I stayed. The lifts to the various sections were not immediately obvious though I did only check in at 23:30 so was probably a bit tired by then. The restaurant food for dinner was fair to poor at dinner. The last night we went over to the nearby Thon hotel for a much better dinner. You really need to improve the dinner meals. Thee bathroom floor getting wet from water splahes when we had our showers. There were no tea making facilities in the rooms. These would have added to the apparent comfort as we arrived late in the night. The hotel, except for the room itself, was rahter shabby and could clearly need some refurbishment. Scandic Bergen Airport Hotel is 2.5 miles from the airport. No hotel shuttle and the airport shuttle will not stop there if coming from the city. The cheapest taxi ride is $25 for 2.5 miles! With Taxi 1 company it is $45 ! You can choose any taxi in line, don't take Taxi 1 ! The only hotel at the airport is Clarion airport hotel. No connectivity to go to city. I wish there were toiletries and more amenties. The hallways were quite dirty and unkempt. wake up call did not work No pressure on water. Expensive... Staff are rude and we were charged more for one night stay. Not recommended. Rooms were dated, no tea/coffee in the room.....very expensive....tha Clarion Airport Hotel is much more modern and cheaper. Not really value for your money. Hotels appears to be quite expensive in Norway in general and this was not exception. Room was very cold. I tried to turn heater on but there was no effect whatsoever. The hotel was closed when I got there. Statoil had taken it over due to the Algerian crisis and I was transfered to Scandic Bergen City. I was not notified prior to arriving even though I had provided my e-mail address. The hotel claimed this was your fault. Rooms were scorching hot....Hate to stay in the room,.
