Freindly hotel, very accomodating in all respects. I requested a quiet room on the top floor with a view and got it all. I had to depart at 4:45 am and the staff made up an adequate breakfast for me. Comfortable hotels that are good value for money are rare in Bergen except, I assume during the dead of winter; so I was happy to be at the Park. I initially had booked in the Comfort Hotel and was happy that I changed to the Park. Breakfast was not gourmet but quite satisfactory.

However, they offer a very nice full Norwegian breakfast for the cost of the room, which isn't always provided at all Norwegian hotels, and coffee, tea and snacks are offered 24/7 in the breakfast room, which is very nice for travelers.The décor of the hotel, made me feel like I was at home. The staff was extremely helpful in providing me with needed information on the City of Bergen. Definitely would come back to Hotel Park Bergen when I visit Bergen again in the future. Recommend to fellow colleagues and friends. We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Park. We had a very friendly welcome and a fantastic recommendation to a nearby local restaurant. The room was a good size for 3 nights, we had space to relax. The TV showed BBC World, and it was useful having a fridge in the room as well. Warm welcome and charming reception and breakfast room. Breakfast was very nice. The staff seemed genuinely interested in helping guests with arrangements to see Norway by boat (i.e., Hurtigruten cruises). There was an empty fridge in the room, useful for picnic things. The welcome was very friendly and everything well explained. The room was very nice. Tea and coffee and chocolate brownies were available at any time. Breakfast was excellent. We had stayed in this hotel 20 years before and it was all good then and is still all good. Friendly staff. The bathrooms are tiny and cannot accommodate more than one person at a time. The beds were a little soft but otherwise the room was great. Coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice to have. The neighborhood, once exclusive, is rather less so now. There is no ice available to guests (a freestanding ice machine was turned on for us, then turned off when another guest complained of the noise). If the hotel is fully booked, I reckon it can be a bit noisy as it is quite a old house (ear plugs are supplied in every room though). Bathroon was OK but small. The shower enclosure was exceptionally small. The bed was too soft, although not a problem as this is just a personal preference. Also there were two single mattresses on one double bed. shower was a bit small, and whole bathroom floor became wet (we used the floor mat up against the base to soak up the water). nothing bad however as the shower was powerful and hot. Had to push up the luggage up the hill. Although the place was near the train station, the hill was >_< Also, although the female staff offered to bring up the luggage, would have been better if there was a male porter instead. Wifi unreliable on some days. The only potential downsides to be aware of are that it is up quite a steep hill & being a very old building, it has no elevator. Bathroom a bit small but the sort of compromise you expect with a historic conversion. if each room can equiped with a water boiler i think will be much better. Nothing really wrong but the ratio between room size/price was not very well balance. That may be because it was a very high season with all hotels booked out because the musuc festival. my single room was a bit small. Leaving!. We didn't mind, but be warned that there is no elevator or bellhop, so if you're on the top floor like we were you'll need to carry your luggage up 4 steep flights of stairs. Similarly, we liked the slightly-out-of-downtown location, but be prepared to walk up and down the main hill (<10 min) several times a day if, like us, you enjoy making multiple trips into the city center. We were actually assigned a room across the road from the historic hotel. The internet did not work. No hot breakfast. No AC or fan in the room, but this shouldn't be an issue if you're there during moderate temperatures. We were on the fourth floor and with no lift it is a lot of work carrying luggage to the room. Also be prepared for a major climb on the street to the hotel. Lack of storage space. 1. Facilities in room were quite few. (No tea pot, No fridge, No Slipper, No hair conditioner..). Bathroom very tight squeeze. A bit small room. Lack of lift. Having carried our heavy cases up a very steep hill, to have to carry them up another two flights of stairs was horrible. Climb up the stairs but it keeps me fit. Only street expensive parking. The pillows were a bit too soft for my particular needs. The warm water from the shower is not enough hot... When it rains, Room 310 has a lot of noise from the east window / roof area. There is no lift!! It was 63 steps up to our room. However, it was worth it. The view was fanrastic, and it was a big room. No lift - my suitcase was too heavy to carry 3 floors. Shower a bit small and beds to small. The shower in our room was a bit awkward. shower door was too small so water got all over the floor!. No elevator.
