Did stay at end of season, queit period. Good location, near the main street and the beach. WIFI all over the place and free instead of the exorbitant prices one can find some places. Friendly and helpfull staff. All in all it was about what I expected after reading about it so I was pleased with my stay. The WC / shower sharing was no problem, might be a bit more rush when it's full there. all reviews »

Hotel Friends Texel is located in the entertainment centre of the seaside resort De Koog. This cosy brown-café is open daily, all year round and is an excellent place to go to for an early morning cup of coffee and paper, or for a late night local drink or a nicely priced shooter. When the weather is nice and sunny you can also sit outside on the terrace.
Wi-Fi is available in the entire hotel. In case you don't have your own laptop, you are welcome to use the computer at the café, also free of costs.

Hotel Friends Texel is situated right outside the centre of De Koog. Many woods, beaches and dunes are within walking distance of the hotel.
The village of De Koog is highly focused on tourism: from a simple camp site to a 4-star hotel. De Koog is the place to go out on Texel with its cafés, restaurants and discos.
There are also a range of facilities on offer such as squash courts, subtropical swimming paradise and the biggest tourist attraction of Texel: Ecomare, the Centre for the Wadden islands and the North Sea.
Room information details
The hotel has simple rooms with a wash basin. The rooms are equipped with 2 box spring beds with a duvet. All rooms offer standard facilities including 2 bathrobes. The toilets and showers are in the hall.
Please note that during the high season there may be some noise from outside or from the café downstairs.
Travelling information
By Ferry:
- The ferry to Texel leaves every hour on the half hour from Den Helder, 100 km north of Amsterdam. Sailings are from 06:30 to 21:30.
- From Texel the ferry sails from 06:00 to 21:00, leaving every hour on the hour.
The boat ride takes approximately 20 minutes. On Sundays and holidays the first ferry leaves one hour later during the summer season and two hours later in winter. On December 31st, the last ferry (both from and to the island) is cancelled. Reservations are not necessary and cannot be made. On busy days an extra ferry rides during peak hours (the ferries leave every half hour).
Once on Texel:
- From the ferry follow the road signs to De Koog.
- In De Koog you continue, taking a right turn automatically.
- You will drive past the Texaco petrol station.
- Turn left into Nikadel street.
