There were so many thoughtful touches in our room. We had a choice of coffees in our room, cookies, water, and a light breakfast if we wanted to eat there. We didn't, because the breakfast downstairs was so varied and in a cozy breakfast room with interesting people to visit. It was like being a favorite guest in someone's home.
David was gracious about giving us the best options of places to see with our limited time. We were able to see more than we would have trying to figure it out on ou. all reviews »
This was our first trip to Amsterdam and certainly won't be our last, due mainly to the excellent service and kindness of Chris and David at the Tulip of Amsterdam. (in fact, we made a second reservation on our last day! I think that says it all!) Our room was beautifully decorated, clean and well equipped as was the rest of this lovely old refurbished building. Central location is perfect, a short walk from central station and Dam Square. Breakfast was fantastic,an amazing choice allowing peop.
This was our first trip to Amsterdam. The B&B was everything that we had hoped for, not a luxurious Hilton, instead a beautifully decorated and fully equiped old Amsterdam accommodation in the heart of the city. The breakfast accomodation was excellent, the location was perfect, walking distance to anywhere in the city center, which allowed our total immersion into Amsterdam life. The managers, Chris and David, made our stay special, treating us like close friends, providing guidance on exp.
This is a very small place (three rooms) run by a friendly couple plus
affectionate cat. Rooms are huge and beautifully decorated. Lots of nice
extras, like a bottle of wine waiting for you when you arrive. Cook-your-
own breakfast, with everything you want there. Perfect location. I took
their restaurant recommendation for reistafel (with doubts; why should
you trust them, but what else can you do?), and the food was fantastic.
B&B is situated in ten minutes walk from Central station, and far from Red light District. Room was rather big and comfortable for us, equipped with kitchen, breakfast isn't included, but personal of b&b leave for you tea, coffee, some snacks, fruits and a bottle of wine.
I liked everything! The owners were super friendly and very helpful and cheerful. I liked the idea of preparing breakfast for myself, as if I am at home. The location was the best - very close to everything, including a 10-minute walk to the Central train station.
It is friendly and relaxed....it's in an ideal position for site seeing...breakfast is self service in a fabulous kitchen/diner, it is also plentiful, with lots of fresh options. The room comfortable and fresh and cleaned daily....hosts and staff are lovely..
The owners, David & Chris were very knowledgeable about the city, and made some excellent recommendations of transportation, where to eat and buy certain items. We highly recommend Tulip and would stay here again.
Excellent location in city center, beautiful 17th century Bed and Breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful , I couldn't have asked for more. Delicious breakfast! I would stay there again without hesitation.
The most comfortable hotel I've stayed in Europe. Great location, clean and larege room, and so on. My parents liked this place a lot. I would like to give Chis&David a hard 10 rating (highest).
The location is very central - everything within easy walking distance. The hosts were particularly friendly and helpful. The room had everything needed for a short stay.

Definitely the position: very central, you can move around Amsterdam just walking. Chris and David have been very nice and helpful in any moment.

The walls are thin, and you will hear your neighbors' conversation.
The staircase is winding and narrow, so it's not ideal for the older
or unstable.
Next door from the B&B is fish shop, so when you go to street you feel this smell.
It was a bit hot in the room, and I was advised not to open the windows because of the moscitoes. However, there was a large fan, so I used it during the day and at night.
A bit expensive for facilities.

It was Friday when I was there. A little noisy on the street. Maybe a thicker/double window is a better choice.
Everything was perfect , however the stairs would be a problem if you were old or very young , but you couldn't change that .
Noise from fish delivery to shop very early in the morning.
The room was cool for the first few days as the heating was not functioning properly in our room although it was sorted when we finally found David.
