It's an excellent balance for anyone looking for good value for money that doesn't sacrifice comfort, cleanliness and location. I liked in this Hostel cleanliness. I have never had this kind of experience with hostel.very clean; decent breakfast; helpful staffs; safe; quiet; fun. Clean rooms, nice staff, good connections to city center. the bar, and the friendly atmosphere.
all reviews » Everything. Lovely place overall.The hotel was very clean, very trendy and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and were available 24 hrs a day. Internet is now available. Food was nice and the series of keycard access doors meant it felt very secure. the personal is very kind considering that the hostel has many many guests.the breakfast is better than average hostel's breakfast. The bike rental service is cheaper than those in the city. the location is not in the center of the town but still good as for walking/biking as for taking a tram or night bus. The area is fair enough.for the price i paid the comfort i got was amazing.the hotel staff was nice and very helpfull everytime i had a question. good position in Amsterdam, inexpensive price I can find , good breakfast, but terrible coffee. The hostels is new, comfortable, very nice breakfast. It is a clean, safe and functional place to stay for budget traveling.- nice place, all new and clean, great breakfast,. The rate!. Everything was perfectly clean. The security was very high, there was akeycard access to the hostel, floor and room (using the same card). Alsovery good breakfast in the form of Swedish table. breakfast, a bathroom in my 6-bed dorm, sheets wrapped up. friendly enviroment and the breakfast included. there is a cool bar behind the building.The staff was very helpfull. so-so. The self-service buffet breakfast was varied and healthy. It would be a nice touch if a set of towels was included with the pack of bed linens. It is inconvenient to have to bring your own.it needs more direction explanation. a bit far from the city center. A sign at the tram stop would be helpful as we got lost trying to find it!. the hall, where people were supposed to meet and know each other, doesnt meet these needs.yes.the ideea that youre not allowed to smoke in the hostel.i had to get out at the entrence of the hostel to grab a smoke.it could easely make some windows so the smokers could use that and smoke. It was not so clean.Lockers aren't free. - light in rooms very dark, you need to take tram to get to the city, beds too small for couples. I cleaned all the bathroom again. Security lockers are 2 eur per 24 hours. Internet is pretty costly (5EUR/hour whereas at town I found 1.5 EUR/hour), but then again there areonly two computers for hundreds of people... This hostel isexceptionally huge. Finally, it's a bit far from the centre (about 3 kmfrom Centraal Station). i didnt like having to pay for sunday night as i had to leave sunday morning, but i understand the reason for it. the towels are not provided. people are very noisy. not cleaning the room on a every day basis. it takes a long time to check in. Far away from the city center.The hostel's location is a real issue - it's just too far out of the city centre. Even with the No.14 tram passing nearby, it still isn't easy to access the surrounding area quickly. The 'hay-loft' part of the bedroom is totally unacceptable - two twin mattresses placed side by side in a 'double' arrangement. What on earth are they thinking of? Towels are tiny. Piped music is tedious. All the amenities are very expensive ( you have to pay for all!!) The staff was not professional. The atmosphere is rather closer of the centraal station than of a hostel ( indifferent and careless).

All rooms are designed by the famous Dutch designer Edward van Vliet.

Rooms are available from 14:00 onwards. However, you are more than welcome to check in early (24/7), store your luggage in one of the lockers and start your day in Amsterdam.

Hostelling International members will receive an EUR 2.50 discount per person per night. If you arrive after 18:00 on the day of your arrival, the cost of the first night of your stay will be charged from your credit card.

Travelling information

From Central station:
- Take bus 22 in the direction of the Indische buurt and get out at the stop Muiderpoortstation. Walk into Insulindeweg until you reach the Sumatrastraat and go left there. Proceed till you see the hostel at the end of the street.

From Dam square:
- Take tram 14 in the direction of Flevopark. Get out at the stop Zeeburgerdijk and walk 3 minutes into Borneostraat.
