But this is not too important and had did not change my opinion of the hotel.Only thing missing was tea/coffee tray in room. Otherwise excellent We found that only in the Netherlands we were asked to pay on arrival which we found strange as having booked through Bookingcom the hotels had all our information and we were traceable if we had absconded. The room and bathroom were a little on the small side, but considering the origins of the building, more than adequate. The rooms were very very small but very clean. Noisy people in ajoining room. would have liked a room with a view. No, there wasn't anything we did not like about the Singel Hotel.As with most hotels in mainland europe missed the kettle and coffee/tea making facilities in the room. the breakfast has a few option of products, especially diet products. Floor in the room somewhat squeaky, people stepping in the room above could be heard. Also noise from the street (occasional ballyhoo of passing people, not much of traffic noise) came through the windows (room right above the hotel entrance). For breakfast would have liked croissants and danish pastries in the continental breakfast has the selection was fairly limited.The amount charged for the room was excessive considering the narrow and small size of the room (I felt like I was in a closet). other guests very inconsiderate about noise level after midnight. Was woken up many times each night by loud voices and slamming doors.Loved the front and that it was a canal view - but on the downside, it's pretty noisy in the morning. Our room didn't clean during the 3 days. Our towels didn't change.Bigger rooms with more facilities (e.g. tea, coffee etc.) are available elsewhere for a comparable price. Rooms a bit small but cosy and 'had character'. Bathroom smelled musty. No bath, only a shower. Small room.
