Amon and Ester, the two staff here welcomed me with a super nice smile and I felt at home immediately. The hospitality here is also great and makes you free of worries. Being able to live the traditional Nepalese way of living was also a special experience. With easy access to the golden temple, Patan Durbar Square, and Patan Doka (bus station), its also a good place if you want to travel around. The Hira Guest House is especially recommended for those who want to avoid the crowd at the same t.
all reviews » This is a very special place, the low ceilings are a little inconvenient at times, but the way this guest house has remained its traditional appearance is truly special. The rooftop area is also very nice, with great views of the Golden Temple next door. Breakfast is excellent too. The manager was very helpful with organising transport at short notice. Excellent location. The central location in Patan was fantastic - loved being able to watch the goings on at the Golden Temple next door. Quiet, clean premises, very helpful staff and as a not for profit organisation, funds generated support under-priviledged women and children. Traditional style property but with some modern touches, right down to the low ceilings (mind your head !). Staff very friendly. Great roof top - views and place for breakfast.Great location for Patan's Durbar Sq. Hira is a very unique place, we travel a lot, this is the first time that we stayed in this type of hotel/guest house. We enjoyed the experience very much. The location is great. Historical building that has been completely renovated. Very charming. The guest house supports a local charity organisation for children. This place feels like a little hidden gem. Lovely old house, quirky. Service was friendly and the breakfast delicious. Beautifully renovated traditional house, friendly and helpful staff, great location, nice roof terrace. the staff were fantastic and made every effort to make my stay as good as possible. the House has atmosphere and I doubt that anyone would find a breakfast room anywhere else as close to a Buddhist temple, as this. Breakfast was nice and the homemade yoghurt was as good as I have ever tasted. The hot water system did not appear to work, though the other people we travelled with had a nice hot shower in their room. Definitely not a spot for those much over 170cm tall unless you are happy to walk around crouched - rooms 1 and 2 apparently have lowest ceiling height. Beds are very firm. Rooms vary in size (its an old property) we had 2 and paid same price but one was far better than other. The doors are low/small, but i guess that's the style of the house. It is part of the charm, but still, be aware that the ceilings are very low... Nothing.
