This boutique hotel is located literally steps away from the historical Kasbah district within, and at the upper end of the Medina. Its in a quite but perfect location for walking around the old town and port/harbour area. If you arrive by taxi its a very short walk including down some stairs from where the taxi drops you off (Michele will email you a map with the square marked where the taxi should go to - she also provides a walking route from the ferry port if you are going for a few days on.

It is a boutique hotel with all the necessities and comfort one could wish for. The charming decor of every room and the welcoming ambiance created by the wonderful owners, Michelle and Dominique, immediately instill a feeling of warmth and relaxation. Michelle and Dominique are wonderful hosts who go out of their way to make one feel at home. The breakfasts on the roof a. he casbah of Tangiers (I know them all) ...I cannot wait to returnA haven of peace. . We loved it. The private hammam in the riad itself (Arab steam bath including the person to exfoliate your whole body)) was a great experience for my Danish clients. Very good breakfast served on the roof of the riad facing the the 2 oceans and the city of Tangiers The friendly French owners Michele and Dominique did a refine Moroccan decoration with a great taste, sober but very elegant. After the hamma. Many guests have commented that this charming hotel is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the Medina and that is a perfect description. Michelle and Dominique are consummate hosts nothing is to much trouble, if you need a guide please ask for "moo moo" you will not spend a better 30 euro on your whole trip. The hotel itself is modern but completely authentic in style and so many little touches that make it unique. We couldn't recommend it high enough. Staying at Dar Chams Tanja was such a wonderful experience. It was not unlike being whisked through time on a legendary magic carpet...the Gran Soco shopping area, steeped in ancient history, will never be forgotten with its scents of exotic spices, the smiling faces of all ages and, our favorite, its beautiful fabrics and exquisite rugs. Dar Chams Tanja is located within the heart of historical Tangier. What a wonderful experience it was to stay there!. The owners and their staff deserve the highest praise for making our stay special. We felt we had been invited into their "home" to stay for a few days. We were looked after, cared for in such a warm and friendly way. The high, lookout-and-see-the-Kasbah, terrace was splendid. The interior decorating was wonderfully done and visually uplifting. The location is excellent, in the northern part of the medina. The owner, Dominic, and his staff were kind and friendly and went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one. Excellent location in the heart of the medina. Nothing was too much trouble for Michelle and Domenique - restaurant tips, where Premier League games might be shown, hiring a car. The view from the rooftop is splendid. The owners were wonderful people, friendly, concerned, and helpful in every way. In addition, the room was spacious, comfortable, and a great place to relax with a glass of wine (and snacks provided by the owners). Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Anyone who picks faults with this hotel and its owners, Michele and Dominic, wants their heads examined and surely could not be satisfied anywhere. I only wish I had more than a 1 night stay. Not a thing. Absolutely nothing. Nothing. We loved everything. Can't think of a thing!. The heating is a little weak for winter periods, making the rooms somehow less comfortable. The veiw from all the rooms is terrible, and in bad weather the rooms and resturant are very cold, there is no atmosphere in the hotel so you need to go out, I wish I had of stayed at the five star I first looked at as the facilities at Dar Chams tanja are very poor,and it was more money to stay here.WE Left a day early because of this.
