We had a wonderful break in Marrakech due largely to the wonderful staff and calm, relaxing atmosphere at Riad Nesma. The Riad was ideally situated for all the hustle and bustle of the city but behind the front door an air of tranquility took over. We were woken each morning by bird song, incredible in the middle of such a busy city, had a good breakfast on the attractive terrace and set out for the day. all reviews » The Riad was very clean throughout and the location was excellent - around a nice 5 minutes walk to the Jemaa el Fna and also very close to a number of other tourist sites. The staff were excellent...very friendly and helpful in any requests that we had. During our stay, it was my wife's birthday and as a surprise, the staff at the Riad surprised my wife with a cake & flowers on the rooftop along with decorating our room really nicely with rose petals scattered on our bed saying "Happy Birt. The staff was friendly and helpful. Hicam (the receptionist) was very friendly, he gave us some mint tea, a map of Marrakech and told us a lot about Morocco. Breakfast was really good. Location is excellent, it is near Jemaa el Fna. The superior rooms are nice and very clean. Even though there was a bit of inconvenience, the manager tried really hard to make us feel satisfied and we were. And when the roof terrace will be finnished, it will be excellent. Very good location. The Jemaa el Fna is 5 minutes walking. The taxi station and a parking place is just near about. The staff is excellent!!! Very friendly and helpful. We felt like at home. A very minor point- I booked a Superior Double Room and initially having seen the room, I thought it was a little small to be classed as superior. However as our stay continued, I began to like the room. At first we were a bit dissapointed because the roof terrace was under construction. But we got a discount and a superior room, even though we payed for standard room, which was good. The small streets in marrakech didnt feel safe at night time. Was very busy so with children could be a little dangerous too. Bathroom is a bit small especially since we booked a triple room, but it was still sufficient for the few days we were there. TV reception at times was a bit poor but that didn't bother us as we hardly stayed in to watch TV and only ever had it on to watch the news etc whilst getting ready to go out. The turism tax of 2 € also applied to the children. A bit noisy from outside. Small bathroom. The bedrooms were small so you need to be very good friends but absolutely spotless with clean linen every day provided by smiley helpful staff. Some rooms are a bit small, but it seams the case in most traditional Moroccan Riads of this lower price range. Little noise in the morning if you like to sleep after 8h. the outside was bit noisy. but it's acceptable and you should enjoy it, cuz you're in Marrakech. Les idrissides family room was a bit small for 4 adults The riad itself is small, simple and basic, nothing special about it except the service. our room was really small, not a big problem for us. Anything. It's a pet peeve of mine . Not just here but Europe also I wish there was a way to see the movies and shows they have in English or subtitles. Sometimes after beening out you would like to see something you could understand . Not just the bbc. Room was small. Not a problem until day 3, then it felt a bit cramped and stuffy. The room was a little small for us (two adults and two children). room was a little small. We had damp on the wall from the shower,which was dripping after you had a shower.the room just about fitted a double bed in.When we reported this to the owner the only thing he was worried about was us not writing a bad reveiw.We only stayed 1 night instead of 5.
