On arriving at the airport we were greeted by a friendly taxi driver who agreed a price of 150 Dhirams to take us to Fez He called the hotel for us. We were met at "the blue gate" by Youness, a worker from the hotel who helped us with our bags. After that the hotel was always easy to find again. The room was spacious and comfortable. all reviews » Getting to the BnB is a bit confusing, as is anything in the entire medina, but we gave 2€ to a man who carried our bags and escorted us to Dar Tarhya. The staff was incredibly friendly and greeted us with Moroccon whiskey, which we unfortunately could not take because of our rush for our tour of fes. The place is beautiful and has a great homey feel, our room was so cute and comfy as well. Younnes, one of the staff, was even so nice enough to give us some history of Fes and Morocco, and escort. We really enjoyed our stay in Dar Tahrya. The room was very clean and spacious with very nicely decorated bathroom and big shower room. The room had an amazing bed and Moroccan deco through out. The space outside of the room was a restaurant were we enjoyed our breakfast with very friendly and helpful staff. It's right in the middle of Fez Medina and although it is difficult to find this place initially, it's definitely worth it. The staff was amazingly helpful and the breakfast was delicious. Location: Riad Dar Tahrya is very good located for discovering the Medina - near the Blue Gate (with several restaurants in the neighbourhood) - and easy to get out of town. - The servants are friendly and helpfull - Good breakfast - Rooms are big - Inner square is nice. There was sometimes a smell from the bathroom. It came from the drain as the bathroom was spotless. Nothing. Winter is pretty chilly in Morocco and the rooms are cold. Other places we have stayed in have small electric radiators or some kind of aircon heating. Nothing here; that said lots of blankets provided. The pillows in the large suite were awful. Large lumpy masses we threw on the floor. Being situated in the bazaar, a very easy fix. The staff were a bit preoccupied at times. Staff was like in a big hotel --> friendly because they have to. Room was small and the washingtable was lose. Shower was leaking ( the whole floor was wet when someone took a shower).They do not have a hamam as was said in the description. That was our main reason that we did book the riad. The cleanlyness was not to our standards. For a price of € 45 per night for a room we don't feel like pulling out a propp or plug every time we take e shower or use the sink. The sewage system gave a bad smell in the room. .
