The lady receptionist was polite and helpful when we arrived. The door men couldn't do enough for us, getting us a taxi to go out the evening we stayed, and the next morning for the train station. Breakfast was good; plenty of breads, cheese, jams etc, and scrambled eggs if wanted. lots of sweet biscuits also. Decor is certainly very Moroccan. We had a room looking onto the main street, and there could have been great traffic noise, but the double glazing kept most of that out. The bathroom wa.
all reviews » Traditional look and feel to this hotel. You would not find something similar outside of Morocco. I stayed here my first two nights in the the country and got accustomed to the wonderful breakfast buffet served there. Little did I know that it would be the only such breakfast served. All other riads I stayed in served pretty much the same breakfast with coffee/teas, juice and Moroccan bread. Adequate, but not even close to the yummy array at Moroccan house. The location of the hotel is very . We had a fabulous few days at this hotel. Staff were great, excellent buffet breakfast, flexible with a late checkout etc. it well located close to the old medina and central shopping area. it certainly is quirky in terms of its 4-poster beds and pictures all over the place. We had a room onto the main road on the 6th floor, and it was noisy at times but it became pretty easy to block it out too. Very recommended. The wonderful paintings, intricate patterns and decoration all over the place! The very friendly staff, particulary the doorman and breakfast man. Big breakfast buffet is delicious. The fun, themed rooms with Arabian Nights style drapes on the beds. Such a blast in Casablanca. Also, great location to walk straight up to medina or new town. Amazing!. The welcome tea on arrival was indeed extremely welcome and I thought a very nice touch while I was waiting for my room key. The decor was great and the room was very clean and comfortable. The inside of the hotel has been intensively decorated so if you like simplicity then you might find this overwhelming. as for me, I found it kind of ok. The rooms are clean.Toilet was complemented with razor, toothbrush, tooth paste, comb which I found very useful. The Moroccan House is conveniently located close to several of the main tourist attractions of Casablanca. We were able to walk to the Cinema Rialto within 10 minutes and other historic buildings. Catch a tram from the train station and get of at the Central Market a 5 min walk away to avoid the traffic jams. Authentic experience, very good value, hotel was exactly as described. However, croissant was like it has been made few days ago, no salads and Moroccan tea was cold. We wanted to stay 1 more night but the price tripled. In our opinion, the whole hotel and our hotelroom in particular was a bit over (and not practically) decorated. But for one night, this didn't bother us. The hotel is not very tourist oriented. The bathroom could use a little updating. A little noisy as on a main street corner. The hotel is definitely OLD. The hair dryer didn't work in the hotel room and the building itself needs a good remodeling. It wants to be a moroccan experience, but it sounds a bit artificial. When I asked the hotel to book us a guide I specifically asked for English speaking and the cost. When the guide arrived, he spoke no English and charged more than we were told. front desk staff. they force me to go and bring cash money because the machine of accounting was not work !!!!! it was bad !!!. The staff weren't so friendly when we arrived or when we had a problem with the room. There was also a constant buzzing coming from our bathroom all nigh and day that we had no idea what the cause was. having to debate payment either in cash or card. The shower tub is broken. Staff in general except porter not very friendly but it was Ramadan so this could have something to do with it. There are nicer areas in Casablanca. Reception staff was not very helpful (but the breakfast staff was!). - quite noisy on the first flour in the morning - breakfast may be better - a lot of non-natural products - more cleaning is required at least for couples with children. The room was stuffy due to the material over the 4 poster bed restricting air flow. The room was small. Loud music in the hotel or its neighboring building on Saturday Night. Many of the Art Deco buildings were in poor state, not worth visiting. Good dining places were hard to find. Moroccan faulty towers with completely uninterested reception and even an inept aged bellboy. The air on controller was kept at reception so could not control the rooms temperature. All was bizarre. The room, the bathroom, the breakfast, most of the staff.
