Close to city center. Pool is small but very welcome after a hot day of sightseeing. Room and hotel is old but has charm and is clean. Staff very helpful if you speak Spanish. Breakfast is OK: bananas, oranges, bread, Mexican sweet rolls. Excellent location. Lovely old colonial building with an open reception area. Friendly, helpful staff. The area around the swimming pool would have been a nice refuge in hot weather. I chose to stay there two additional nights.
all reviews » The location of the hotel is very good, near the cathedral and main attractions of Merida. The style of the hotel is very nice, historic looking. The staff are helpful. There are many restaurants and shops around the hotel. Location in the heart of downtown Merida. The room (two dbl. beds) was modern, with nice, indirect illumination, comfortable, clean. Better than many that charge as much or more in downtown Merida. Staff were excellent and always courteous. The courtyard was very appealing. Overall, its a nice old hotel well valued, central and pleasant. I have stayed here many times, it is old but charming. The location is excellent, just a few minutes walk to the Cathedral. The location of Hotel Reforma was perfect! Close enough to the center of the city and excellent restaurants. The pool was wonderful, as was the quaint colonial style building. If you don't smoke I suggest you ask for a room at the back which would have been much quieter. The breakfast is very poor only bread, jam and butter. The included continental breakfast. There was sweet bread (or toast), bananas, and coffee. Period. It was good enough to get you out on the street to complete your breakfast elsewhere. Bathroom shower head needed to be replaced. I went out and bought one at the market and had it changed. Sink was cracked. Towels were thin. While the housekeeper and bellman were very accommodating, front desk staff could be friendlier. Poor breakfast, staff dont speak english!. Breaksfat not so nice but you will survive;). the bathroom too small. The breakfast was very poor. The hotel good be a little bit cleaner. - Looks older compared to the pictures - one of the worst breakfasts I ever had. People in the pool was noisy. The breakfast.
