It is our first time to visit Maldives so I'll take this oppurtunity to say our overall experience. We arrived in Male, early in the morning and decided to take the ferry to Maafushi. Unfortunately, the 10am schedule was fully book so we were told to wait until 3pm for the next schedule as they ran out of tickets. Considering we were in an unfamiliar place, we went back to the port. We called the hotel to pick us up via speedboat and within 20 minutes they arrived. We were not used to riding sp.
all reviews » If you are looking to stay away from big resorts full of other tourists and like the beach, this is it! Absolutely the best hotel in Maafushi! Rooms are simple but they are spacious, very clean and air-conditioned. And if you go for a sea-view room (like we did), you will get a good size balcony as well. The staff is extremely friendly and because of the size of the place, you get to know them very soon. :) Whatever you need just talk to someone from reception, they are really helpful and w. The hotel exceeded my expectations. The pictures don't do it justice. Gorgeous view from my sea-view room. The room was large & quite luxurious with quiet efficient airconditioning plus ceiling fan. Very clean. The roof top sundeck also had excellent views & gave some privacy for sunbathing as you can only wear swimwear on the fairly small enclosed tourist beach opposite the hotel. The buffet breakfast was excellent & the a-la-carte menu good value for money. Nice little touches lik. The staff are friendly, the hotel is classy and standard yet very affordable. We absolutely loved the breakfast served at Kaani beach hotel. We loved the welcome we recieved and the lovely fruit juice we were served on arrival at the hotel. Overall, our stay at kaani beach hotel was beautiful and I hope to visit kaani when next I visit maldives. With a friendly and courteous staff, the stay at Kaani was a pleasure. Right next to the beach, I had a sea view room which was perfect. They have a planning board with all the possible activities. It helped me a lot in organizing my stay there. The staff helps you with a lot of local information as well. the staff was excellent.. the location of the property is just beside the ferry terminal... the hotel is just a year old with beautiful view of the beach... hats off to the staff who try to help you in resolving any prob with best of their efforts .. 100% recommended... I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a budget option and you can still do day trips to nice resorts etc,so you get the best of both worlds staying here. I loved it because it was so easy going, there were never a problem that could not be resolved. I also loved that they were thinking about the smal details at the hotel such as free water, free snorkeling Equipment and a number of other examples... We stayed 12 nights in this hotel and we didn´t have any bad experiences. Rooms were nice and clean. We had a sea view room and we reccommend it. Food was good and affordable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a great holiday there. Great location with nice diving sites and quality resorts nearby. The staff was excellent, the hotel was very clean, we used their snorkeling equipment; The excursions to Picnic Island, sand bank and diving with Maldives Passions (right next to the hotel) were the highlights of our trip. Unless you're a diver or an ardent sunbather, then there is little to do on Maafushi (although you could say that about any Maldivian Island). Avoid the expensive speedboat transfer if possible - mine was a dangerous maniac - we were nearly swamped. I was deluged on my way to the airport. Try & use the public ferry departing Villingilli terminal in south west Male at 3pm & Maafushi at 7.30am every day except Friday. Takes 90 minutes. Cheap & cheerful & much safer. Nothing. The breakfast spread was boring. It's like I had the same stuff on all the days. Also, they say they provide beach towels....but it is really difficult to get 1 if you are a bit late. The hotel was suppose to pick us up at the airport but did not show up and we had to stay in their hotel in Male for a night which is not very nice. However the hotel didn't charge us for that night and picked us up early the next morning so we didn't miss much in the end. The beach is small and little bit dirty, there is no sun beds. There is not so much to do, but it is possible to go on excursions offered by the hotel every day. The breakfast selection is poor and after a few days one can fed up with it. Only a few resort is accessible and Anantara, the best one around is almost always fully booked. Internet connection was not reliable in the room only in the lobby. Nothing really, taken in consideration we knew we visited a Island where locals live and not a high priced resort... The only down side was the beach in front of the hotel which is much different than advertised; although the next beach (1-2min walking form hotel) is quite nice. The transfer from the airport was delayed as we could not find the person who was meeting us. He didn't show up his board with the hotel name. taxes, service charges. Wifi can't reached to 3 floor, only in lobby can use it. The pillow is a bit to big, make the position of head too high. Breakfast was weak..we couldnt understand the hotel staff/ whenever we wanted to leave the island for daily excursions staff came up with ridicilous excuses..they couldnt arrange a boat to other islands.. People should be a little bit faster when you are waiting for a meal in the restaurant. But it;s not a problem if you are not hurry. lots of stones in the beach. Practically you can't swim. You have to plan for the excursions if you want to enjoy swimming. Wi-fi hardly working but it seems like all Maafushi has got the problem with it. very slow internet but it is normal all over the island. Very poor breakfast, only toasts, eggs, beans and jam. Any vegetables, ham or cheese. so far so good just if the beach is well maintained, will be prefect! but its hard as the beach is not private but share among the small hotels on the island. Long waiting on the food!. city tax, the island is old and run down. There is nothing to do other than the beach. There are trips to nearby resorts, but, bit expensive. no alcohol to be use in this local island, you cant wear swim wears at every where in this island only designated areas. nothing. you need to arrange your trip early for ferry, trops they make kinda expensive. nothing. Staff does not reply to e-mails. Best to post a message on their facebook page to get a response. not helpful staff. The cost of the speed boat and no atm/money exchange. nothingto say. - Was very stormy when we were there so the room was very noisy due to the tin roof and poorly fitting balcony doors. The staff of the hotel is absolutely arrogant and rude not very good at hospitality would never recommend it to anyone else. the manager and the lazy staff. - No internet service for the 4days when we were stayed there. The staffs / management has no courtesy to arrange for a cheaper speed boat on Friday as its their public holiday. The 3rd parties speedboat service was cheaper indeed.
