I believe they have the best staffs around! Receptionist Fiza, Manager Raj, Bellboy Saravanan, Recreation Attendant Ganeson.. REALLY TOP QUALITY OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!:)Nice swim pool they have.. And their Lounge by the seaside is a MUST GO! Chilling and relax. Nice pool side bar with seats in thr pool itself.. Got a free room upgrade from Raj and Fiza. Every room comes ith a complimentary 10mins of water motor ride daily.All is good! They have nice breakfast spread as well.. Price of RM44.10 is.
all reviews » The infinity pool at the Cumulus area was a great place to relax. I would say, it's one of the highlights of the place. The swimming pool was good as well, with different levels of depth to cater for different groups of swimmers. The resort is huge and has ample place for one to walk around to admire its greenery. It's really a great place to unwind and destress!. It was one of my best experience for holiday with family ,staff were excellent and friendly ,the environment were perfect,the food was outstanding and all in all it was one of my best pleaser trip with family and for sure I will go there again. Most things were very good. We were nearly put off by some (many) of the negative comments in the reviews on letsbookhotel.com but we were very happy with the whole experience. We'd stay again, and recommend it to friends as well. Staff is very friendly. I love the welcoming staffs, with drinks and so help to check us in. Location is good, the breakfast was good. facilities for family and children is excellent. The atmosphere was so relaxing and the spacious area at the lobby is so welcoming. Overall Thistle is a great place to unwind either at the pool or beach (the sea water is dirty though). Space and rooms they gave us a cake when we mentioned that we were there for our anniversary. I love the hotel and the staffs, what I mentioned that I didn't like was minor issue only :). The GM ensures that all the guests waiting at the lobby are promptly serve by his staff. We stayed in Room 310. Thistle looks so new and is so CLEAN, it's like another world from Port Dickson. My 4-year old son had a GREAT time running around the premises... and swimming. Huge outdoor pool with a FULLY FUNCTIONAL pool bar. Wunderbar! The staff were very accomodating when asked. The room was spacious and modern. Simply MARVELLOUS! On a scale of 1-10, Thistle gets a 9.9. I stayed in this hotel when it was under the old management and it was a nice surorise how this hotel has improved tremendously in terms of service and facilities. My children enjoyed the interactive games room as well as the movie room. Also, the late closure of swimming pool is also a plus point as it is nice to swim at nite in our humid wheather. Kudos to the team!. This is our second time staying in this hotel. This time round we brought our entire family and we had so much fun. Our kids enjoyed the swimming pools so much. The only time they were not in the pool was during meal times and when it was time to sleep. We also love the private beach. We will definitely return again!. Watersports(seaside). Kayaking is not being recommended by staffs as their equipments are faulty. enhance your water sports and beach area, and you will be best! Not a good place for snorkelling. Pulau Tioman is way better!. The air-con in my room was not strong enough, while setting the air-con to a temperature of 20%, one would imagine that it will be able to cool the room, however it did not do so. The beach area was dirty and was littered with rubbish, it was such a sore sight to see that the hotel was clean but the sandy beaches were littered with rubbish. Not much really. the rooms is not a 5 star hotel standard. Should follow Thistle Johor rooms standard. 1.Washroom req. some improvement (esp.toilet). 2.Breakfast needs more varieties (quality & taste). 3.Room insulation req. some improvement (from walkway). 4.The beach (esp.sand) needs some clean up. Quite a long way out of Port Dickson. Pricey. Looks very 'resorty', gardens are lovely but hotel doesn't really blend in to the surrounding area. Rate for F&B was crazy especially the room service. Food was below average. Extra bed given to us was in a total mess. It looked so cheap and horrible. Pls bring down the price for the F&B. The infinity pool was very dirty. We couldn't try that pool. my first room that allocated for me have some leaking at the ceiling..there have some water drop into our bed..but hotel gave me the other room after an hour check in at 3 pm.. Toilet at the pool is rather not well kept. The sliding door at my room was not able to be secured. It is not family type room. we could here everything that was happening outside the room, people walking past or sound from the adjacent rooms. Food is very expensive, and was suprised that breakfast is not included in room charges. The lobby is nice but would be better if there is live music entertaining the guests in the evening. Bedroom doors must be fitted with mosquito netting to prevent mosquitoes at night while at the same time enjoying fresh air in the room. elevator access was difficult a times. No place to get away from screaming kids despite having a dedicated area staff ignored the screaming kids. kettle was spoilt, cot is not readily available. There is no proper queue to check in or check out at the lobby. If the GM was not around to guide the guests, most of us are clueless and just standing around. Room service food is expensive. The breakfast / lunch lay out, some facilities in the toilets are not well maintain. Furnishing is kind or old n dusty(well my family are sensitive to dust).... The swimming pool needs more daily cleaning, sand, rubbish and leaves at bottom of pools. Swat camp facilities needs maintenance. The boat driver n banana boat worker throw the rubbish after meal on the seaside! the boat driver throw the tap of bread when feeding the fish into sea. That is not action in front chirdren n pelancong!. pool water dirty. Pool too deep. I was not too impressed with the food on the room service menu. For a 5* facility definitely there is improvement to be made such as the following; 1. Nasi lemak - The peanuts were over fried 2. Kuey Teow - The prawns were not cleaned properly as there was sand in the top part which is normally removed from the prawn 3. Did not have a sauna or steam room. The cabinet door in the room we stayed in was broken thus making it difficult to open the fridge. Nothing actually. Breakfast is not up to par for the standards set in other areas of the hotel. If Thistle wants to maintain its current level, it has to look at its F&B aspects too, which in my opinion is currently rather lacking. A lot of 'mosquito' but luckily it don't bite. The food....taste not good. Food was pricey but to be expected in a 5 star resort. Room service menu needs to be improved. Need better parking area. More secured parking facility. small rooms and no family appartments. kids playground (old & broken). none. The management should have a signboard of Thistle Hotel on both sides of the entrance. All ok. Requested for Large Double Bed but not provided.This is nit-picking but if you're looking for something tradisional or old retreat, Thistle will be too modern for you. The condition of their private beach is about the same as any part of the beach in Port Dickson sans the crowd. Pricing wise a little on the steep side... for locals. For foreigners, it will be ok or rather cheap. Enjoy!. Children's play room definitely needs a makeover and upgrade. Needs to have more activities for children. The room balcony overlooking swimming pool was very dirty.
