Great location close to the Red Garden food market - very tasty, cheap meals from 6pm onwards. Walking distance to anything you'd want to visit it Georgetown and you can get buses around the corner opposite the 7/11 shop that will take you to any other desirable destinations on Penang Island. Nice small, clean double room with air conditioning and shared toilet/shower. Friendly staff and laundry services for 5RM per kilo - clothes came back smelling amazing! The place is very clean, brand new and in the centre of the cultural district. Basic breakfast but you can eat as many toast as you like. Plugs and lockers for everybody in the dorms. All good, definitely recommended. the staff helped me a lot in introducing the tourist sites as well as useful information, e.g. where to have best currency exchange, which agency offers pick-up service from the hostel/hotel, what is the local cultral event during your visit etc. The cost of it was amazing and the staff was really welcoming, the bathrooms were clean and there was hot water supply, there was also coffee and toast available for you whenever. It is in a good location for people wanting to do a thai visa trip. The dorms have only 4 beds. Your locker is at your bed and the bedrooms are locked, you get you own key. A little noisey due to creaky floorboards but it's situated in a renovated colonial house which made it feel more authentic so we didn't mind. Got quite a few mosquito bites in the shower rooms but not the guest house's fault and they put free mosquito spray everywhere which was great!. The dorms downstairs are pretty small so not a lot of space once you leave your backpack on the floor. the dorms is a little bit narrow. It is a dormitory so you will meet a lot of people, unfortunately these travellers werent the friendliest of people and one of my dorm mates snored. They have ants, but they don't bite neither disturb. Internet works only in the lobby. They could have some sofas or comfortable chairs in the lobby - they only have those not so comfortable rattan chairs. It is really loud when people walk by your room, at least on the first floor. WiFi isn't accessible from room. There is lack of air ventilation so you might experience a little stale/damp air in and outside of the room. Because wi-fi can't reach the room at the back so i have to go to common room to get the wi-fi but no problem. The problem is lights in the common room is turned off around 9/10 pm so i have to browsing in the darkness. The beds were not the best and the air conditioner leaked on the bed. Wifi in the rooms was weak/non-existent. Walls are a bit thin, wifi doesn't work in the room that are further from the reception. 29 Rm for a bed a bit expensive. Noisy rooms. nothing. -wooden floors and thin walls made it extremely noisy -the bathrooms were not kept to a good standard. As the showers and bathrooms were combined, the floors were always soaking wet and the bathrooms themselves were infested with mosquitos -the wifi didn't work in our room, only in reception area -breakfast was very basic -mattress was uncomfortable -If booking, don't expect a 3 star hotel!. Problem with Mosquito's and the matress was a bit too hard. Breakfast was meager. Uncomfortable beds, hard pillows. No ventilation in the rooms. Only air conditioning. Thin walls and wooden floors makes it a bit noisy when people walking. Bath rooms Not very clean, many Moskitos and shower didn't work all the Time (no hot water). Bathrooms are always wet because of the showers. They should provide something to dry the floor at least. However, I think this happens in all budget hostels across Malaysia. Little bad smell in room. The size of the room. But it is still acceptable. It states on letsbookhotel.com that they accept credit cards, they DON"T! The loud party until midnight that was at the building behind us, but echoed loudly through the main upstairs hall and my tiny single room. Room was tiny and did not feel comfortable. Mosquitos everywhere in the bedroom,in the shared bathrooms, in the lobby!! There is spray but it doesn't keep them away! They only do toast for breakfast unlike a few of the other guesthouses around, maybe they could include fruit if they don't want to cook? Very noisy floor boards. Quite noisy at night Bath room not so clean. the dorm rooms are very small and narrow, didn't have reading lamp in every bed. Small rooms with no windows and was swarming with Mosquitos. I got bitten11 times! No fresh sheet, just a blanket and not sure if that gets cleaned after each use. As a solo female traveller, found the location a bit unsafe. Lots of small lanes and locals leering and calling you. Very small rooms, overpriced for what you get. Very simple breakfast. Internet connection not good. wooden floor upstairs makes noise when people walk you can hear the footsteps clearly and cant sleep well.Room is quite small. Bed was really uncorfotable,room with windows are noisy in morning from rush street.. Very thin walls in the roo., heard everything from outside and the other rooms. Nothing.... Wifi not reach the room and mosquitos everywhere in the common area. WiFi doesn't get to all rooms. wifi so weck~~. No soap and meagre breakfast. Dark no window room. Noisy all the time, shared bathrooms need some attention.
