Close to the subway station- about 10mins slow walk from Anguk Station (if you can find the hotel) and Insadong. Service was excellent- the ceo and staff really went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and pleasurable. The hotel is new, so everything is clean, fresh and comfortable- the room is exactly as the photos depict (which was somewhat unexpected for the price we paid) The room is cleaned with fresh linen and towels provided every day. all reviews » Korea is the country of miracles. But in order to see the bright pictures of this country, it is necessary to get accommodated in a hotel. I have chosen Hotel Icon and did not regret. In a cozy room there was a flowers bouquet. It was a gift from very hospitable owner Ms. Eun Gyo. Hotel Icon is located in the center of Seoul. Closed to the hotel there are and the main street Insadong, and historical sites, as Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Korean national village, and shopping centers. It was great. We liked absolutely everything.It was the best travelling experience I've ever had. Very friendly and thoughtful owners (CEO and his wife) did their best to make our staying as comfortable and pleasant as possible. The rooms are cleaned every day, the bottled water is provided every day too. The location is great - a lot of historical and amusement facilities are situated neaby. A lot of korean restaurants, shops, supermarkets, american and korean coffee shops, so you'll never get bored. Famous. Clean room, well heated for the cold winter, near the subway & some of the tourist attractions such as Insadong, palace. The lady boss provides excellent service! She offered to drive us all the way to Lotte World, Gangnam and even stop by at Hyatt hotel to enjoy the view of Gangnam. She ensures we got all the subway directions and also where to get cheap and good food. We even got to taste her excellent cooking! Our family enjoyed staying at Hotel Icon and looking forward to go back fo. It was close to subway station, just come out of Exit 4 from Anguk station and walk down past the palace wall, when you get to its corner tun left, walk down the next lane on the right. Proceed down the lane till close to the end, then turn left and go around to the front door of the Hotel Icpn. It was very clean and quiet. There was even someone at the desk at 5.30am to see us off to the subway. this is a fantastic hotel - it is family-run, and they made us feel at home straight away. We hadn't booked breakfast, but as we were staying during Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) they provided breakfast free of charge for the 3 days we were there. The owner even gave us a lift to Seoul station to catch our train to Busan. Excellent! Will definitely stay there again. Special in this hotel, I can try hanbok free, everytime. Map for tourist very convenient to catch up almost the places for sight seeing. Very near Insadong street, MRT... Finally, the best location, the best hotel and I will stay again for next time. I like that the hotel is located in the centre of seoul city and near Anguk Train Station which conveniently enables me to go around the city by train. The hotel room is very comfortable and the hotel staffs are very helpful especially when it comes to giving directions. Hotel Icon has made my first Seoul trip a memorable and pleasant one. The cleanliness of the place, good location near bus and train station. Walking distance to palace and insadong shopping street. It is located in amidst a number of commercial and residential buildings in small, narrow lanes. The beds were slightly too firm for my liking - but to be honest, my back was better!. Hard to find, it was in an alley but very close to the main road. The locals helped us locate it by calling the hotel. The room is quite small.. The smell on the basement and ground floor is not so good. However, hotel cleanliness in room is fine. Breakfast is in B1 but no heating, very cold. The hotel is in a small street, difficult to find out. I liked everything!. Beds were expected to be hard, as all Korean beds tend to be. always had trouble getting the taxi driver to drive us there. it's not listed on the gps, so taxi drivers get confused. on the first day we just asked the driver to drop us off along the main road and walked into the small lanes ourselves. even got turned down by one taxi driver. it's best to avoid taking a taxi back to the hotel altogether. No English speaking staff. No separate shower. Hard for taxi to locate the hotel.
