My partner and i stayed at City Nutz in 2011 and loved the room we got and the hospitality we received, the drink machine which offers three free drinks was just a bonus! (the rooms are not massive but nothing in Tokyo will be and it was perfect for two) we then stayed with a group of 6 in the japanese room in the same trip which was just as great, more roomy due to tatami style and although winter the bedding is very warm and this needn't be a worry (we also asked for temper pillows as note.

It was very convenient and I would stay there again just because I know what I'm getting. It's definitely not the fanciest of places...but it was clean, had decent amenities, and worked for what we needed. Coffee maker, small fridge, interesting music system, tv. Air conditioner in our room didn't work well so room was very stuffy. Smoking is allowed in lobby and other common areas such as corridors. To bring food is prohibited. - Internet was awful in our room. - No wardrobe where to put our clothes - Too many blinking lights in the room (from the TV, the air conditioning, etc). Wi-fi connection in the room is lousy. Have to walk out from the room and stand at the door side for the connection. room was really small and didn't have wifi connection, I could only connect to the wifi in the hallway outside my room. It's located a bit far from Shinjuku station. Nothing. Check in time is 16:00. And they charge per hour for late checkout after 10am. Even if you request for 1hr. (Good thing is they will hold your bags). It is pretty hard to find (we got lost twice on our way) and the rooms are small (the bathroom is pretty big though). Our room was dark because all we could see through our window was the wall of another building. small room. Shower outside of the bathtub. This was the most disgusting hotel we have ever stayed in. 6 days & they did not change the sheets or blanket once, the airconditioner smelled like cheese & dirty feet, the bathroom air vent was completely clogged with dust and there were dusty empty beer cans on a ledge above the bed. The lobby stunk like dog & cigarettes. Worst hotel ever. Aged furniture, musty smell.
