Owner and staff were extremely nice and were very helpful. When I asked them something (like recommendation for the transport to various sites or good restaurants nearby), they were willing to help and their suggestions and recommendations fit my needs. The hotel was very convenient location-wise and it was very comfortable as a whole. I would definitely recommend it to my family and friends and shall I visit Kyoto again, this hotel would be my first choice of accommodation.
all reviews » The Ryokan was situated on a quiet side road minutes from Kyoto station. A minute away was a nice breakfast place and in and around the station there were numerous eating places for dinner. The Ryokan was spotlessly clean and the staff friendly and helpful in supplying maps and information on sightseeing. Staffs are very helpful and accommodating, helped to arrange for local activity (ukai), gave good guide info about Kyoto, helped to arrange for takuhaibin. Has coin operated laundry. Good location. Can communicate in English another plus point. Very friendly owner and staff. I really enjoyed the stay, not far from the Kyoto train station and surrounded by several good restaurants, coffee shops and shopping areas. Very clean infrastructure with the expected Japanese Ryokan style. The room was large and accommodated 4 tatami mats without any problems. the bathroom and shower was spotless and near our rooms. the location is superb! walking distance from the Kyoto JR station and a few steps away is the bus stop. We like the Japanese room décor and tatami mat flooring. It gives us a warm home feeling and ambience. Curfew at 11 pm which was rather inconvenient as we wanted to watch the light-up at the Kiyozumi-dera temple which was packed with night ravellers and also traffic jam.
